I use it when sewing with my Singers - and do several at a time. But I prefer to use it instead of the machines for some reason. My Janome and Viking I use the one one the machines.

I had one years ago and hated it. It didn't fill correctly and took ages.
My friend has one it fills beautifully and takes seconds she thinks it is the bees knees. It looks like you are lucky with the one you purchase. |
I bought mine as a back up if my older sewing machine winders break. I found it at a thrift store, new in the box for $5.

I love mine and use it all the time.

I recently purchased one on sale at Handcock Fabrics. I tried only one bobbin and needed to rewind it. I'll need to try a few more before I say yes or no.
|
I use mine all the time! I love it.

For me, yes. I use it all the time. I used to have a machine that I could wind bobbins on while I sewed. I missed that so much until I found the sidewinder.
|
Found one on clearance at Walmart. It is a not worth using when my machine does a better job and is easier to use.
|
Love mine too!! Would buy another one if mine died!!

I received one as a gift and for me -- I love it. I have a bobbin box that holds 25 bobbins I have some regularly used colors spun on about half of them. The other half is white/cream threads for my all purpose piecing stuff. I use the larger spools of thread (3" ones that hold a ton of thread) which I put on a pencil to spin a lot at one time. When I sit down I'm all set to go. I tend to get tunnel vision when i'm sewing and with fewer interuptions, the off I am. But that is just me. Also I can put some AA batteries when I'm going to group or I can use the cord while at home.
