Simple way to view new site - I think !!!

I am enjoying poking around the new site, and I'm sure in a few days, things will all fall into place....BUT, if you really are struggling, I found something that might help you out. Scroll down to bottom of main page, and click on the word "ARCHIVE". All the forum catagories populate, and you can click on the ones you want to see and it lists the all the posts in that catagory, newest on top. I think this might be as close to what those of us that loved to use the "unread topics" link on the old site? Click each one you care to read, it takes you to the post. On the browser I use, IE, once you read one, the link will change color. Perhaps this will make it easy for you to make sure you're seeing all new posts. If I'm correct on this, this "generic" link might be the way to go for some of you who absolutely don't like all the new bells & whistles.

I just looked at it. Do you prefer this over "What's New?" at the top of the page? I don't have an opinion about it. I'm just asking. Trying to figure things out just like everybody else.

I love it - the where am I and what am I doing in this handbasket. Laughing hysterically right now!

Yooper32 11-01-2011 03:47 PM

Senior or Super, just sign me blind.

With this right eye patched, I am sorely displaced tonight. Guess this was not a good day for me to try this new format as I am having a hard time just being today. Hope tomorrow is better when the patch comes off.

maidmirian 11-01-2011 03:47 PM

I am having a hard time with this too.

It will get better.......

tellabella 11-01-2011 04:00 PM

Can you change the colour and type of font?

becca1231 11-01-2011 04:32 PM

I just figured out the other board and now I'm lost again. LOL

pjnesler 11-01-2011 04:35 PM

My favorite evening passtime has me bummed ( going through posts on this quilting board) - too hard to figure out at this time of day - maybe tomorrow will be better, I'll miss this site if I can't figure it out. . . . :(

Elise1 11-01-2011 04:37 PM

I'm just testing my ability to post and see my status.

wuv2quilt 11-01-2011 04:56 PM

It took me forever to figure out my pass-word.....QB with drawl is terrible :)

JanTx 11-01-2011 05:20 PM

I'll be glad when I can remember the codes beside each thread- red envelope, opened envelope, etc. The meaning of each icon is at the bottom of the page. I know I'll enjoy those once I can remember what they mean.

(Edited: I used to be "regular" and now I'm "senior". I'm not sure which one is more exciting!) :)

luvTooQuilt 11-01-2011 05:29 PM

One step at a time..

I was one of the testers, and it does take a lil bit of getting use to.. Just keep playing and clicking, and do a lot of snooping around...

I agree with what you said, hopefully I can regroup

dkabasketlady 11-01-2011 05:51 PM

I'm also having a hard time with this new setup!! Also I'm colorblind so I'm really having a hard time with the envelopes, lol!!

DeniseB 11-01-2011 06:08 PM

Still looking around, kind of confusing.

ncredbird 11-01-2011 06:13 PM

I noticed that everyones feedback score has reverted to 0. Wonder if that will catch up any time soon? Ann in TN

psquared52 11-01-2011 06:15 PM

Need a tutorial!

Wish there was a tutorial on the new and improved board!

Crqltr 11-01-2011 06:17 PM

I read some where on here (can't find it again) to post a pic you have to first select "go advanced" I can't even find that! And can't ask how because I can't figure out how to start a new topic! This will take some getting used to that if for sure!

Crqltr 11-01-2011 06:17 PM

Opps, I spoke to soon! I just saw the button!

gmaybee 11-01-2011 06:33 PM

I'm sure after a few days I'll figure things out.

Okay, the "go Advanced" shows up when you hit "reply" or "reply with quote". So that I know, but what is this color-coded envelope that people have mentioned?

Maia B 11-01-2011 07:21 PM

So far, not thrilled with the new QB.

Doreen 11-01-2011 07:23 PM

We all just need to be a bit patient. I thought I had gone to a new site. I, too feel a bit lost.

go to this message from Patrice and click on the link for the Help Page... it takes a long time to load, but is full of videos.

Fabriholic 11-01-2011 07:45 PM

If anybody figures out how to get the signature back in will you please let us know? We all just need time to get used to this ... I don't think anyone over 40 cares much for change :-)

That sounds great but heck I cannot even see any word resembling Archive anywhere! And I also have tried to change the color of the phobt so it does not kill my eyes and that did not work either. How did you change yours?

Carron 11-01-2011 08:07 PM

Well, how about that, I am finally a 'super' something....lol

busygranny 11-01-2011 08:20 PM

I just got on after 10 days and I don't like what I am seeing. I want my old site back. I've lost my best friend.

didi 11-02-2011 02:53 AM

I guess we will just have to look around and help each other...
