what are you working on?

I've got two projects going....sewing some small items for my etsy shop and working on a small quilt for a QuiltCampus class that I'm teaching I hope this spring. I've already made one so this one is to test my writing.

So, how many projects do you have going and what are they?

luvTooQuilt 02-04-2011 10:02 PM

I'm working on my 'Newborns In need' baby quilts... Ive been lacking behind a bit so I need to catch up.. :-( I try to make one a week.. :?

Jim's Gem 02-04-2011 10:16 PM

We're not all snowed in. Some of us are stuck at home sick!!!!

irishrose 02-04-2011 10:21 PM

Not snowed in at all. The north country knows how to deal with 18 inches of the white stuff. I had an out of town Dr app't, which gave me an excuse to go to JoAnn's. I did run into some whiteouts of blowing snow coming home, but not too bad.

I'm working on a quilt for a Cystic Fibrosis auction and maybe a table runner, too. Depends on how much I stay off the board.

Just came home from a day of shopping, buying more fabric of course and wanting to sew! But it's so late and everyones sleeping, except me!

AnnieH 02-04-2011 11:45 PM

Trying to get the enrgy up to finish a set of cushions. Worked too late last night and had to use the seam ripper so maybe will get to it today but little energy.

Becky Crafts 02-04-2011 11:52 PM

Not snowed in in Florida, but am working on a play mat for DGS's and it's a big job with my carpal tunnel acting up. Slow going. Also getting ready to start the next baby quilt due in May.

Kyiav10 02-04-2011 11:59 PM

We did get a little bit of snow, but not snowed in. I am working on quilting my OBW and Star Struck. Going to binding on this week on a small baby quilt.

lisalovesquilting 02-05-2011 04:05 AM

Quilting the D9P for my FIL, working on applique quilt called Bloomin' Garden, piecing 5 in. squares for a Twister. Not a lot of snow in SE Ohio right now. But I heard some is on the way.

Shirely 02-05-2011 04:49 AM

Hi I'm working on Hearts and Spools ,making Valentin's gifts for Grandchildren and finishing placemats for my daughter-in-law. Just finished 2 american doll capes. Shirley

Shirely 02-05-2011 04:52 AM

I just cleaned up my sewing room, but still have things on the floor and in boxes. I've got to find containers for all of this. I'm determined to get a lot of my projects finished. hold that thought. Wish me luck

NDQuilts 02-05-2011 05:02 AM

I am doing a UFO cleanout. So in my quilting frame is my SIL wedding quilt and by my tv chair is my honeymoon quilt. Just to give a time reference my wedding was 2001 and hers was 2006. Both quilts were sidelined in favor of commission jobs and I'm starting to feel guilty for putting family last.

lots2do 02-05-2011 05:08 AM

I worked on a tote bag for a colleague that retired in the spring yesterday. It's almost done - yippee. It was the first time I used the pattern so it was a bit of a challenge and I modified the way I did it. If I do it again, I'll make a few more modifications.

I have a snowman wallhanging that's on the back burner right now. I also have Marine fabric to make my Uncle a quilt out of. Oh, and D9P blocks to make for our grandson.

Lots going on, just the way I like it!

leatheflea 02-05-2011 05:48 AM

I rearranged my sewing room this week. Started a new top, another scrap quilt while Im waiting for the ice to melt. This is the last of the 2 1/2" scraps. Got the top together in one day, gotta love scrappy they go together fast if you stay with a simple plan. Cant go wrong with 9 patch. Of course I'll post it when done. Hopefully by tomarrow. Simple quilting also, straight lines. I need to go to the fabric shop to get a couple colors of blue that I need for a lonestar that I'll be starting. Oh I started to make machine covers and the stitches didnt suit me so I threw it in the trash. Thinking about buying the prequilted or just using fusible fleece and not quilting them at all.

ssgramma 02-05-2011 05:56 AM

Not snowed in here either but I have sandwiched the strip quilt for the love seat, made 8 different blocks for pillows and cut backing and batting for them and made a wallhanging with a patched heart, house and 2 cats with small pinwheels and broken dish blocks made from triangles cut off while making pillow blocks.

Whew - that was a long-winded sentence!

kateyb 02-05-2011 06:16 AM

No snow here just cold. Snow coming tomorrow. I have 4 WIP's I'm working on.

dkabasketlady 02-05-2011 06:31 AM

I'm NOT snowed in here in Florida, but do feel sorry for those of you that are since I'm originally from Indiana(only been in FL. for 6 yrs.). I'm hand quilting a quilt for my older brother, making some lounging pants for my DH, and working on 3 Christmas quilts for my DGD's.

Dina 02-05-2011 06:55 AM

I am snpwed in here in north central Texas. We live in the country, and there is just no plan for heavy snow here. This is Day 5. But I am happily quilting, reading, and drinking hot tea. I just started a quilt from fabric I got for Christmas. It is my second attempt to use this fabric, as I was not happy with my first plan for it.

So I have spent most of my "time off" planning to make sure I like this pattern and fabric together, but I do. It's for me. Most of my quilts are for me...selfish me. :)

clem55 02-05-2011 08:46 AM

raining here today. Our children just surprised us with fresh bakery donuts and a visit . Came to say happy anniversary. I'm ready to do a little light cleaning and then working on a baby quilt.

quilter1943 02-05-2011 09:18 AM

I've cleaned out my closet and trying to finish up some UFO's. But we're also golfing here in Central Florida. Come on down!!

quilter1943 02-05-2011 09:19 AM

OMG, I have that black print and have no clue what to use it with. Any ideas from anyone . . . .

We are having a warming trend here, only 21 degrees, so if the
quilting room is warm enough I am quilting on my Mega Quilter.
I won the lotto blocks for February, 40 blocks, each one is a heart. I am going to try and feather around each heart.

Stitchnripper 02-05-2011 10:09 AM

No quilting but granddaughter asked for a "home made pink nightgown" so that's what I am almost through with.

fleurdelisquilts.com 02-05-2011 10:57 AM

Guess I should have remembered that the whole world is not having our weather! I was just wondering what others do when they can't leave home. Some fun projects going on out there. Thanks for sharing everyone.

Hope you feel better soon.

Is it mean if I tell you that we have the most delicious sunshine and DH is outside mowing the grass with just his flannel shirt on? I have to prep some hors d'euvres for a housewarming party we get to attend.

The one on the right side of the picture? Oh goodness, somebody else has some..... I've had mine since 2007, and after having a 'love affair' with it for three and a half years (which meant I couldn't cut it), have finally, finally figured out what to do with it. Have been searching high and low to find more since November and it is nowhere to be found. But, I figured that I would use up my 1.5 yards of it. I'll be able to post a picture of the quilt top in a few days.

Greyhorse98 02-06-2011 03:19 AM

Gosh, I wish I lived closer...I would come over and help you sort this material out. I have been there many, many times.

I tend to organize by color only. I put smaller pieces in zip lock bags or those clear plastic shoe containers so I can see what color is stored there. Good luck with your organizing project.

Psychomomquilter 02-06-2011 03:59 AM

I'm not "sewed" in, but I got a couple of projects going, finished the Feb.doll quilt, starting on another, and someone sent me a large appliquéd fabric that I am trying to embroder. Oh yes crocheting pineapple book marks too. crocheting coasters.
guess I ought to slow down a bit. but i do enjoy this

karenpatrick 02-06-2011 04:41 AM

I'm finishing marking the border on a quilt for my bed. Hope to finish it this week. I've decided I'm going to put my UFOs out where I can see them instead of in a drawer. Hopefully my conscience will urge me to get them finished this year. I'm not starting anything new until I get them finished. Pray for me.

the old one 02-06-2011 04:48 AM

I am assembling the blocks for another charity quilt, the scraps I cut into strips were from several family members, made a colorful set. Now, it looks really nice spread over the back of the living room sofa, and I want to keep it--but I started it with the thought of giving it. Time to struggle with myself, I suppose. piecefully, the old one

Keep us posted on your progress - it'll help us too.

The roads have been clear since Thursday (the day after 20.3 inches fell here) and the sun has been shining every day.

Suzi 02-06-2011 05:04 AM

Jaci - Are you SURE I can't come and help you 'cause it doesn't look like your making much of a dent in things (yet).

Suzi 02-06-2011 05:09 AM

JenniePennie - An OBW would be beautiful with this fabric (if you have enough yardage).

Jagsd3 02-06-2011 05:21 AM

Not snowed in here in SD, but am working on three Silhouette WIP's, 2 FWS BOW's, and a Winter Snoman Quilt.

DeeBooper 02-06-2011 05:36 AM

My mom and I have spent the last week just organizing. We had a pretty big mess but it is looking pretty good. Maybe I will put pictures on later. We are also working on scrap quilts for charities. My avatar is one we just did.
