I say go for it. I am still looking for my first FW score. If you happen to find an extra one (at a great price) during your search, please remember me.:D I'm not particular about the year.

I love your machine. It looks pristine! And what a great deal. I am going to get the little machine today. Where do you buy bobbins for it? Featherweight bobbins won't fit it?

I think it's a steal! I believe this machine is just about as close to a 221 as you can get....especially the price. My Mom has used a table like that for years....very user friendly.

Thanks for posting the picture of your '36 Featherweight! It's beautiful!

Well to everyone who responded, just wanted to let you know I went and got the little green machine and table today. It belonged to the sister of the lady I got it from. It is so pristine. She said her sister hardly ever used it. Included the manual and several sewing feet and the instruction booklet. Now I have 4 machines, a Janome Spec. Ed. 11,000, a Janome AQS, a Singer Featherweight and now my new little green Singer.

My husband will clean and oil it tomorrow. I plan on taking it to bee and use for quilt piecing. Now I need to give her a name.

She seems to run well but I am having problems winding a bobbin. I loosen the wheel and engage the bobbin attachment but she does not spin. Will have my husband troubleshoot it tomorrow.

So happy to have this new machine!

I bought a 185 a few years ago cheap and eventually gave it to a charity group. It sewed great, but was extremely heavy for a 3/4 size machine. It is cute as a button, but transporting it to sew-ins was not easy, although I had the case. Instead I take my Singer 301 and occasionally the FW gets an outing.

Kathy my 15-125 takes the same bobbins as my 15-91 and I have a bunch of them already wound with my most go to colors. As for the bobbins for your 185, perhaps one of the board members who own this cutie can tell you what size bobbins to purchase.
