Thanks, I might keep it if I don't get my 127 treadle fixed.

My understanding is that if it's a Redeye, it's a 66 - I think that's the only model that was ever routinely decorated with those decals.

And if the attachments clamp onto the back of the presser bar instead of the side, it's a 66, because I think the 66-1 was the only Singer domestic machine made with back-clamping attachments. My 66-1 back-clamper has lotus decals in pretty poor condition, but it sews like a champ and all the attachments make it a lot more versatile than I used to think a straight-stitcher could be. :)

I doubt that you would be able to use any parts from a 66 to repair a 127 - a few screws might fit from one to the other, but they're very different machines. I haven't ever tried to make this kind of substitution, though, so if someone with experience at this has told you that it will work, trust them over me.

If you will pm me and send me a picture of the part you need for your 127, I might be able to pull it off of one of my 27's.

I would LOVE to find a Redeye in pretty condition. :) The ones around me are usually in terrible condition. The few that I've seen that were pretty were priced way too high for my budget.

Thanks for the info-. Don't know the name of the part for the 127 yet. Got to go back and pick it up from the
SD this weekend. He will show it to me and the name .
I hope someone can help me find this part as it has been discontinued and no longer available to order. Will post this info soon as I can. I am trying to restore my mothers old treadle, the one I learned to sew on. Thanks again.

Thanks polyparret, The part I need is the needle Bar cam. Its the little heart shaped cam inside the machine at the top of the needle bar that the screw works off of to make the needle bar go up and down. Mine had break in it.
If you think you have it could you pm me a picture so I can be sure we are talking about the same part? I have a parts # if you need it.
If you have this part off your 127 please let me know and price. My SD said it might be a good to replace the needle bar too. Thanks , Nannie

I am sure that that part is in there - just not sure how I would get it out. ;)

Someone gave me a parts head - it's missing the handwheel, plates, tensioner & bobbin winder - but all the internal parts are present. I would be happy to send it to you if you pay for the shipping. By FedEx ground, it would cost about $24.

Are you talking about the whole machine head or just the part I need? And is that the total cost for part and shipping?

Take the plate off the left side that covers the inside of the head and you can see the inside where the needle bar goes up and down and the small heart shaped cam will be at the top. When you turn the handwheel the screw rotates around the cam.
I have a picture on my camera. I will try to upload it to you. Not sure if I can, I've never down a upload.

No, that's for the whole machine head.

But if I can get to the machine, I'll see if I can figure out how to remove the part you want - I'll be happy to give it to you if I can figure out how to get it off. If I can't, I'd rather just send the whole machine. :)
