I am a sew and go person. The more I piece and don't rip out because the seams or points don't match the closer I get.

I am a "go slow" to a point. Once I know my seams are ok, then I pick up a little bit of speed

After all the years I have been quilting, there are often times when I do not sew "perfect" 1/4" seams. That said, I still strive to be as accurate as possible with my 1/4", although there are days "it just ain't happening". That's why I add 1 inch instead of 7/8" when making HST's, then I "correct" to the right size HST, as I'd rather make something slightly bigger and be able to cut down to the right size, even if that means I'm literally slicing thin slivers off the piece of block. It's an extra step, but the final results are far better than if I just went ahead and didn't check for accuracy. It also cuts down on the frustration level at times.

BOTH
I do my own thing,
the way I want,
sometimes fast & sometimes slow.

Do you prefer a slow pot roast of a project and get the seams millimetre perfect??

Or do you prefer the 'sew on the go' approach and don't mind if they are a bit off because "I like the design so that's what I am sticking too and perfection 'aint my bag"??

BOTH - depends on my mood and time available at that point....

I sometimes get tired of working on a project because I do it over and over trying to match the seams. I often think it would be more fun to just stand back about six feet and see the over-all picture! I do enjoy working slow and enjoying the process -- I even think of seam ripping as just a part of sewing now -- but get frustrated that I mess up so often.

It depends on where the item is going too. If it's just an apron or something I'll allow "Design choices", but if it's a quilt that's going on the wall I want it to be "perfect". ;)

LOL...I am in the refuse to be perfect category. I would like to, but I just can't!

Fast on the straight-away and slow in the curves. I really like the process and want my work to be just right.

I always refer to myself as slow as a turtle when taking a class. I'm always the last one. It's not that I want to be I just have never been able to keep up. I try to do my best but would like to pick up the speed a little. Anyway I really enjoy myself so I guess that is what is important to me.

Definitely pot roast. I enjoy the process, and I want to feel good about the finished product before I put my signature on it. After I finish all my planned hand quilted heirloom quilts, then who knows. I may just try to slap a few out on the machine. That is if I can figure out how to quilt on a machine. I guess that is another skill to learn.
