Life is too short to obsess. I try to be as careful as possible without wasting time or worrying too much.

I have trying very hard to slow down and make perfect cuts, make perfect seams, but this last quilt got to me. No matter how slow and worked on being accurate, it wasn't. So I gave up and just dealt with it. As they say practice makes perfect. So hopefully the next quilt will be better. I have found though if I don't think about being perfect for some reason it comes out better.

I'm more of a sew and go kind of person. I do the best I can with the cutting, the use my quarter in. foot to do the piecing. I don't worry about whether it is "accurate" or not. I figure that is MY quarter inch. I can usually manage to fudge if something is a little bit off. I don't fuss too much with it. I'm just happy to get it done the best that I can. Once things are put together and quilted, the whole picture is the most important thing. None of my friends walk around with rulers. Occasionally I will restitch something that is really obvious. Actually I am piecing a baby quilt and noticed when I was doing the final press on the top before layering and noticed that one of the sashing was sewn in with the wrong side of the fabric on the outside. It's a very subtle difference so I'm leaving it as it is.

I am an "A" personality so everything needs to be right. Mama always said if it's worth doing; it's worth doing right.
