I've had one for years-never used it much. But in a pinch, I will use it as an extension "arm" for sewing on my machine.

i have all those clothing ironing helpers but hardly have reason to use them these days.

I'm not sure why, but I find mine to be easier to use when I'm making binding. Mine was handmade by my grandpa way back in the 1920's.

I use the bigger size for setting seams in blocks before sewing the rows together. I use it all the time.

I used mine all the time when sewing for kids. Mine is old and non collapsible; the GD's pretend to press quilts with it all the time, so I know where it is!

i just got one at a garage sale, it was 25 cents and i thought maybe i could use it when making totes to get the corners ironed nicely, have not tried it yet tho. Have to get a bag going.

I use mine to press seams open when I make continous bias binding. My big ironing board is retangle so I have to use it for clothes too.
|
I use mine when shortening DH's pants and I am sure DGD's will find a use for it too. LOL I remember having a 'toy' ironing board and iron--and the iron actually plugged in and got warm!! Those were the days!!

I used mine when I was dressing my dolls even made a ham for the small sleeves to puff them up
