So do you know some one who owns cutters with dies?
Do you have any or want one? To me they seemed to have flopped anyone?
Not sure exactly what your question is. I have a Studio cutter with many dies. Love it.
???? I have a GO and like it. Not sure what the question was.
Don't understand the question either. I have the GO and love it.
Have friend with go she loooves it! I love she cuts pieces for me!:-)
I have the Go with quite a few dies and love it. Haven't used it too much since I have a rather large amount of UFO's I keep working on. But it is wonderful to use when you want to get things cut in a hurry.
I have a Go Cutter with several dies, and I love it!
I have an E Bosser with several dies --It is wonderful -- I like thef act that I can use dies from many different cutters and I don't have to crank it!
Have a Go! cutter myself which I love. Just finished cranking out 6" tumblers for a charity quilt. I was able to do that while watching a movie with hubby tonight. Great tool.
I have a sizzix big shot, bought it because of it's versatility with both fabric and paper crafting; plus it can use all the other mfgs cutting dies as well. Love it.
I don't have one....sigh....
I have studio accuquilt cutter and love it. So far, mostly I have used my strip dies more than anything else.
They work great! |
I have a Go Baby (wish I had the Go). I still love and use it all the time.
I love using the Go cutter to make half square triangles for scrap quilts. Probably my main usage.
...what do mean "flopped anyone"... Must be the ' new' English! Anyway, I have a GO, best investment I have made in a long time.....have many dies and tomorrow am going to order a few more using gift card from family.....so that is my plan!
Cutting fabric with a rotary cutter is no problem so will not put out big bucks for a machine to cut for me.
It would be nice for applique pieces but so far have not used applique. Did buy a cheap three hundred dollar Brother embroidery machine that I love for baby quilts. |
I have Accuquilt Go and love it.
I don't have one but I have a Bee friend that brings hers in if anyone wants to use it. I don't want one. I used to be into scrapbooking and have a Cricut which does similar cuts. To me there is too much waste for fabric. But, for honest accuracy, it works fine. If I was doing flowers or other round shapes, I can see using it. But not for Squares, triangles, ect.
When you use the die cutter and place the fabric correctly, most of the time the waste is minuscule....I prefer a little waste to get accuracy and speed! JMHO
I agree with you Geri B, and sometimes I just cut my scraps for something to do between projects.
I have a studio and go love them!
I don't have one. May get one some day. From what I've read on here (over time) from people who do have they I certainly wouldn't say they have 'flopped'.
I have a GO and I am very happy with it.
I have TWO die cutters and love them both. Big Shot and Big Shot Pro. Not sure what the question is-I know lots of people that have die cutters and dies. My sister has the Accuquilt Go.
As far as waste, I do waste a little bit rotary cutting. I have weak wrists and sometimes the cutter or the ruler slips. |
I have the go cutter. I love it also. Especially the 5 inch die. So many patterns to use with charms.
I just bought a GO! cutter and will be using it with a group of children we are teaching to quilt.

I have a GO and I love it. I don't use it as much as I thought I would, but it is there when I need it.
I got the AccuQuiltGo when it first came out. Since then I have bought a nice number of useful dies for it. I can cut up to six layers of cotton fabric. A real timesaver and easy on my hands! No regrets at all.
I have the sizzix big shot( left over from my stamping days) I mainly use it to cut flower shapes for applique and circles of fleece for the hair clips and pins I make for craft fairs. I purchased a Dresden flower die 3 years ago, but haven't used it yet. It's on my to do list.
I love my GO. made a Storm at Sea which went together like a charm. I don't think these cutters are a flop. Also made a tumbler quilt and getting ready to cut a grandson's quilt that has a kazillion 2 inch squares in it.
I have an Accuquilt Go and 18 dies. I haven't used it much but intend to remedy that this year. My BFF used it and thought it was great. I will be using it for my next new project. As someone else said if you ask the ladies here you will see they aren't a flop. I have used mine to cut some left over fabrics into squares and rectangles. I've cut hexagons ready for a quilt and sashing for a quilt. I found very little wastage - no more than an eighth of an inch to one quarter inch. These I save for a friend who makes dog beds for the RSPCA. Nothing get wasted.
I have the Go and probably about 80 or so dies. I haven't found a pieced quilt pattern I can't cut with the Go. I may have to go a little bigger or smaller on the block size though. It saves me a lot of time and no miss cuts. I have very little waste, not enough to save from most cuttings.
I have the Accuquilt Go and Love it!!! I went through my closet and pulled out old jeans and used the three of the rag quilt dies and blew through that pile! Now just need to sew them together!
I have issues with rotary cutting, so my AccuQuilt Studio is what keeps me quilting. I have great accuracy using it and as a relatively new quilter, I'm able to do curved seams like a pro. I have no fear of sewing an apple core quilt or a drunkards path quilt because I know the pieces are cutting right. I also have a full alphabet and can very easily appliqué someone's name on to the quilt.
I also used one of my appliqué dies to save a shirt my daughter ripped a hole in by doing a reverse appliqué. The die did the cut out beautifully and it looked very intentional for Canada Day (red shirt that we added a white maple leaf to). I use it for paper crafts to. I can make really cool boxes to put charms in out of scrapbook paper. And I can make really nice tags for gifts too. |
Many think cutting paper will dull the blades. I use the hex die to cut papers from lightweight card stock for guild members that do English paper piecing. I haven't noticed any dulling of the blade at all. It still cuts fabric hexes as good as new.
I have a Go! and love it. No flop for me!
I have a BFF that is getting a computerized cutter for her Christmas present. Supposedly it is hooked up to the computer and any shape on the computer can be cut on the cutter. I'll see that first! She is so excited she can't stand herself either! But when the dealer (a guild member) calls to say she is delivering it my BFF is going to call me so we can both see how it works. I must admit I am getting a little excited to see it also.
Saw this advertised and am looking forward to hearing reviews on this electronic cuter before investing in a manual one. As I recall the price was reasonable compared to the manual cutters as you didn't need to purchase dies.
yes I have many dies and own the studio die cutter by Accquilt
