The storm hit here Sunday and I was in a Hobby Lobby on Saturday with my girlfriend and the place was packed wall to wall!!
|
Oh, yes. Did it yesterday, but I confess it wasn't because of impending bad weather.
|
The only thing I might run out of is thread, need to order some from Connecting Threads.
I was at a quilt shop Sat. and some of the ladies were talking about power outages, one said she plugs her sewing machine into the generator and her hubby the T.V and they are just so happy together.LOL. Sounds like a plan to me.  |
My only worry about bad weather is running out of electricity. Happened last night while DH and I were watching television. . . what if I had been quilting? That would have been a real problem.
|
lol i'm not gonna run out of projects anytime in 2011.
I'm praying for a major snowstorm -- measured in feet (not inches) so I can sew, sew, sew!! who wants to go to work anyway!?! =) but last winter i would 'stock up' when a big snow was predicted. i guess i'm still plowing through that stock! |
I'm the night auditor for a large hotel chain and the manager wanted us to stay over, to make sure front desk people are here. The first thing I put in my overnight bag was a hand-quilted project so I would have something to work on. And yes after 8 inches of snow, this is my second night here! Lol

Yes I did on Saturday...needed batting! More important than milk!
|
I've got several unfinished cross stitch projects to keep me occupied if we lose power. However, this great big store has pretty much turned into a non-event for us. Cities a few hours away got 5-8 inches. We got a shimmer of ice... not looking forward to taking Gus to work with me tomorrow. WE will be going in late to avoid the worst of the roads.
Cheers, K |
I dont know during our last big ice storm we didnt have electricity for two weeks and the one before that twenty seven days and I never ran out of something to do but we all went to bed at six and got up at six dark out and no lights except flashlights finally the village got lights and for two weeks we ran on generators

I have a battery powered light and always have some kind handwork to do, be it binding, applique or maybe embrodery, no way will I make through a storm without something to keep myself going or I will go stir crazy
