I agree. You know what "they" say: if you haven't used it/worn it in a year, you probaby never will. Feel the relief of not having the LA in your garage nagging at you! (never mind your husband, lol).

You did the right thing. Congratulations on your courage!

You did the right thing, but it is awfully hard sometimes to let go.

Sad but true....it is/was a toy or the use would have been emidiate because of desire. Once desire hits, a way os figured out. Good luck with your feelings. It sounds like it went to a good home. Warm hugs to you. :0)

I'm not blaming my husband. I haven't ever had the desire to quilt. I like to piece and applique. When I first got the table, the only place to put it up was in the dining room and he nixed that idea. We have an open living room/dining room and I understand. But at the last minute he said I could put it in the dining room and I kind of grasped at a straw there for a moment. But I have LA quilters who do my quilting and I love the work they do. I'm just sad to see it go. I always thought that "maybe someday" I might LA. But in reality, I don't think that day would ever come. And the gal I sold it to, is soooo excited that it makes it all worth it. Thank you gals who were so positive for me. It put me in the right mind frame! I will go buy something I've wanted for my quilting room. And I still have that barn quilt coming. It's going to hang on my garage! It's the Oregon star!

Good for you! If you didn't want to quilt, I bet it is a relief to not having it sitting there ..waiting...waiting...waiting. I hate it when I have something to work on, but I just don't really have an interest in doing it. Life is too short to have things piling up that you have to do, when there are other things you would rather do. I think you should celebrate by doing something nice for yourself, like buying some more fabric! ;-D

Use that money to have some quilts professionally done. It will be fine!

I understand completely!
I passed on my backup machine to a friend who was ecstatic to receive it. Sometimes I do still wish I had it, but it would just be sitting there not being used, so what would be the point.
I also have a treadle machine that so far I haven't done anything about getting a belt for. As far as I know that is all that is needed to make it fully functional. Right now it is sitting next to the table I have my FW on and serves as an extended space for large projects. Really came in handy when I was hemming the edges of all those yards of velvet for the draping at the Scarborough Faire booth. So it's not totally useless!

if you had *really* wanted to, DH could go live in the garage with the dining table while your LA was in the dining room.
so it seems you *really* did NOT want to quilt... you did the right thing selling it!!

He didn't ask for his "gift card" money back did he?...............lol
He seems to have quite the change of heart in the past couple of months.

I think if you hadn't used it in 2 years, you probably never would have. Just think how happy you made someone! Who knows, maybe she will give you a discount on the things she longarms for you?? You did a good thing!
