I did one like this last spring. I think it was the city lights one. I quilted it in circles so it had some motion, turned out really well. I did post it on this site as well.

my quilting suggestion is stitch in the ditch and then abstract stitching in random blocks. very linear and very modern. i love this quilt and may use your idea for a quick top i have avoided making for too long. so many designs! so little time! so much qb!! rofl!
