I'm that close to needing a quilting frame. We went wandering through a second hand store this morning and what was standing by its lonesome?.......................a full size, basic, complete frame. $45 CAD. I had looked at the prices for new and used frame on ebay etc and had resigned my self to using a hoop. Merry Christmas to me!

Your quilt frame looks great. Which thrift store in Guelph - Bibles for Missions? I also wanted to offer you congratulations on your winning block for the upcoming International Plowing Match quilt display. I only saw a picture in the paper but it looked spectacular.

It was meant to be!

Shelbie 12-31-2015 06:18 AM

Yes MaryKatherine, it was the Wellington Advertiser. We were passing around the article at our Stitch and Share Gathering yesterday. I think a couple of our guild members did blocks too but didn't have your most successful outcome.

fangman 12-31-2015 11:00 AM

That is so great, enjoy your hand quilting.

MargeD 12-31-2015 12:23 PM

Great find! Enjoy.

Dogwood Quilter 01-01-2016 05:31 AM

That frame looks like mine. It was a design sold by Mountain Mist batting. My husband and a friend built mine for me in the early 80's. I've always wanted to add a third rail. You got a bargain there.

QuiltE 01-01-2016 06:24 AM

Great Score MaryK!!!
and I bet I can guess where you found it too .... haven't been there for a while.
Now the challenge to find the "right" place for your frame to sit and be used.
woohoooooo Jane is on the home stretch! :)

MaryKatherine 01-01-2016 06:59 AM

Well it's easy enough to do that. Isn't that what hubbies are for?

MaryKatherine 01-01-2016 07:04 AM

Home stretch! Hard to believe!
I started sewing the centre blocks together after a trip to LENS for suitable sashing. ( Boy have they reorganized that place.)
But I still have 33 edge blocks to go. ;)
Hope you had a great Christmas!

mjhaess 01-01-2016 07:24 AM

Great deal....

Vir 01-01-2016 09:35 AM

I have one just like it, purchased at the Kawartha Settlers Village Quilt Guild show many years ago. Works perfectly for me.

klswift 01-01-2016 09:48 AM
