I'd love to talk you out of it, but I love that collection. And I love that quilt. Pack your lunch for a month and it's yours!

You could always save money by going with different fabric for the backing.
Are you going to buy the fabrics from Farbic.com or have you shopped around for a better price, I checked online and found some better prices for the fabric line. |
As long as it's not the purchasing that you're in love with then do it. If you fall "in love" with a new set of $100 fabrics everyweek well then you might want to think about it some more. Personally, if I really LOVE something I get it. I have around $300 wrapped up in my Under The Rainbow Wizard of Oz quilt and don't regret one penny of it. My Marbles quilt is that much or more and I don't regret it either. Any time you can buy something without remorse go for it. Unless, of course, you're maxing out your credit card to do it.

looks like this is a LOVE and a MUST for you... do it and enjoy.... so I didn't talk you out of it but at least I know there is someone else out there that gets my brain... LOL

Yeah, I don't have a "shopping habit" per se...it's not that I drop $100 every other week, but.....I *do* have a lot of fabric. Confined to one linen-closet size closet, so not like a hoard but it's not like I have "nothing to sew". But I have none like this. Re: packing my lunch. Oh, if it were that easy, I'd make that sacrifice. But I'm one of those that already bakes bread half the time and I cook dinner from scratch every night. Lunch is always at home...so, we're not like "spenders" really. Re: it's ugly. LOL! Oh, how I wish I could believe that! |
I'd buy it in a heart beat. Come to think of it, I think I will!

If your heart is pounding when you look at it, that's a sure sign you have to have it. Think of all the enjoyment you'll receive as you sew/quilt!!

And I totally get you on the 100% love, 75% love. And I've been struggling with that....is it just because it's new and bright? Is it just because it's warmed up outside and I'm high on spring? Is it really because I love, love, love it? Does it mean I should get it when my heart pounds everytime I look at it? |
If you really love it (and it is beautiful) and your budget can handle it I say BUY it, otherwise 6 months from now when you can't find it you will be kicking yourself and will probably need to vent here. If this happens we will be telling you "Told you so" and none of us wants to be the one of those people that say "told you so"

When I want something but know I shouldn't have it, I tell myself I'm allergic. sooooo I'm allergic to Amy Butler .... hmmm maybe that only works with food! :) :)
