I checked out a local quilt shop in Buford Ga. today and they had a quilted purse that the fabric was puffy. The hook next to it was empty but that is where whatever make the fabric puff was. Has anyone seen or done something with this product. Like a dummy I did not write the name of it down.

Could it be the batting underneath? Maybe they doubled it?

No Boston, it is something you wash the fabric in I think. It must be something relatively new as this is the first time I have seen something like that. I just may have to go back tomorrow & get more information.

Good luck. Let us see when you make something with it.

I believe that what you are talking about is called Texture Magic. You cut it the same size of the fabric, draw a grid onto it, and sew your fabric to it, following the grid. Then you steam it, and it shrinks and because the fabric is attached to it, it wrinkles or puffs. I think is very cool. You can see it at

There are two products that I have seen recently ..one is a iron on interfacing that you stitch on line lines and then steam just above it to make it puff. Then clover has come out with some clips that you use to hold the fabric while you sew it to make different patterns after it is sewn. Clever huh? I think the first one has different patterns printed on the back, so you buy the one you want. (not sure)

The first time I saw that I wondered what I would ever use it for, but I think it would look cool as a purse.

It does littlehud. I will try to go back to that quilt shop and get a picture of it.
