I've made over a dozen Jelly Bag (by Bunny Hill) totes. I've made them all out of batiks and/or 100% cotton quilting fabrics. I use Pellon craft bond fusible. I have found that after I use the fusible it holds best if I also stitch down the fusible. On the tote lining I usually sew around all 4 sides and an X from corner to corner, before I sew in the pockets.

Thanks.

I have made over 75 totes and sold all of them. I only use quality fabric. You need fabric that will hold up to the wear and tear. I have repeat customers because my totes hold up.

I have used quilting cotton and decorator fabric. Depends on who I am making them for and what I have on hand.

I have used all different kind of fabrics, cotton, decorator, tapestry and faux vinyls.

Just be sure and use a stiff interfacing in the handles. Limp handles are the pits. I use a lighter weight one across the top of the bag. Glenda

I use 100% cotton. I always use 987F interfacing and Decor Bond. It makes a good, sturdy purse that isn't floppy.

Do you use decor fabric or regular quilting fabric? I am going to make (or at lease attempt to) make a few bags this weekend. Just wondering how well regular fabric will hold up to daily wear and tear. I found the tutorial that one of our member posted. So when you get ready to do your Bow Tuck, here is the tute, should you get stuck! |
I use anything I like! Any material works. You can use stabilizer to aid thinner fabrics. I use headliner material (it is a 1/8 inch foam with lining)from Joanns for the layer between the inside and outside instead of batting. it adds great body to purses!
