Do you spray and then pin? Do you do it differently for a larger quilt?
One last question. Does the spray baste wash out? Thanks and regards! G |
I use 505 spray, I don't pin at all and yes it washes out. :) I use it on small projects and big quilts. I love that stuff. :)
|
So far I have only used June Taylor spray basting. Works great. Big and small projects. No pinning. I'm going to try 505 next. I heard it has less smell to it. Be sure to follow the directions on the can.

505 Spray is the best stuff ever made when it comes to hand or machine quilting :-) :-) -- No pins, no basting
|
I use the 505 as well and it washes out. But, I also pin heavily.

I use the June Tailor spray and I hate it. It works really well but the smell and taste of it seems get in my mouth, I wish it were less evasive.
|
I use the 505 spray. Have tried several others but like this one best. Less smell and easier clean-up, though more expensive. I do not pin it after spraying.
|
I spray and pin- don't know why- just afraid the spray might not hold. Oh well, I guess I just need to know things won't move.
I agree about the spray, have to watch the asthmatics in the house. |
I spray baste everything. Just like SD said the spray washes out, just be sure to buy the kind that says fabric safe. Oh and a word to the wise: Spray baste comes out like hair spray, and makes everything sticky. Snot like spray baste has something wrong with it, take it back. Also it should spray out clear, not gray/black. If it does either of those things take it back - it's defective.
