I love the true stack n whack by Bethany Reynolds. I look for a print that has several colors then cut as she instructs. It is always a surprise how each block looks when it emerges. Someone suggested to use a fabric that is really garrish and that you would never think of using for anything. It is a fun process. Since you only use 1/2 of the width, I usually use the other half for borders. This eliminates wasting half of the fabric.

I just love the black..
It gives the block such a richness....

Can you show us the pic of it please would love to see it...

I had to make a baby quilt and it is on the back burner right now :( Will finish it before Christmas. I wish I had used the black now instead of the green. Much richer looking...

I just watched this tutorial today. When her block was completed, I noticed the top tips of the pieced turn-overs would not be a nice point once assembled in a quilt but yet in your photo, yours had 1/4" above the tip so it would be correct once sewn into a quilt. Did you make your black background triangles larger to begin with?

Those blocks are beautiful.

Thanks for the scrappy idea! I've done a lot of S&W's and have a lot of leftover pieces cut that I didn't know what to do with. COMBINE THEM!
I love your colors!

Stack & whack without the stack and it is scrappy I love it.....These were left over blocks I had from another quilt I had done so using up my scraps.

I love this block! Your colors are fantastic. I think a solid rectangle is essential if you want the pinwheel to pop.

Thanks for sharing this with us. They look wonderful. Are those min pins in your avatar? I have one that is 8 years old.

I like the black background. Makes the fabrics pop!
