mix it with the NIagra...I love it that way....makes it go longer too!

I'm insane for some of the Best Press scents - I swear if they came out with a perfume like Cherry Blossom or Caribbean Beach, I would buy them! But, especially after you pay for shipping, the Best Press does get expensive.

Diluted Sta Flo doesn't have much scent of its own, so that might be a good match - thanks! :)

I've used both. I used starch (Niagara) for the first time last week and felt lousy afterward. I think I'll stick with the Mary Ellen's. I buy it on a class day and save 15%.

I'm a cheapo I make my own..

1 cup of sta-flo
1 cup of baby- distilled water
1 cup of any scent of febreeze non aerolosol spray

Mix well and pour in a dollar store fine spray bottle..I get lil flakes every now and then but I don't care I'm gonna wash the quilt anyway so it'll get washed out.

about $5.---and the smell---the (stuff) my friend bought at the lqs was very (perfumy) and the smell lasts in the fabric- at least with good old Niagra spray starch the smell is gone when the starch is dry- the lqs stuff costs more and smells until it's washed out.--i tend to avoid wasting my money on common items that have suddenly found a spot on the shelves of the lqs...the common items that have been around for decades still work...just because it suddenly says (for quilting) on it another $5-$10 can be added to the price....and maybe a little fancier packaging or (smell)
you can buy a huge box of freezer paper in the grocery store for around $5 and it will last you literally years- or you can buy a package of 50 printer paper size sheets of freezer paper at the lqs for about $10...they will get you through a project or two--of course, there is the ease of use-time saving factor...
i tend to save money and am willing to do a little extra work
