Start/Stop button
Was wondering if those who have a start/stop button on their machines use it. I have a Janome and just started using it. Cannot see what the advantages are in using it.

Gee, I dont sew with the pedal, I only use the start stop button on my machines, hated the way the pedal wouldnt stay put.
I do have such a button, but have only used it maybe a half dozen times in over 10 years.
I've never used the start/stop button. Can't see myself using it.
I forgot my foot pedal for a class and used the stop/start button. I couldn't really tell a difference. I can use either one.
I am used to using my foot pedal and by the time I look for the button, it’s too late. If you needed to use it, you would get used to it.
I only use the stop/start button. Don't even have the foot pedal out. I love the button for the even speed.
The stop / start button is great for free-motion quilting. I have a speed control on my Bernina that lets me set the speed I want to quilt. Then I don't have to think about anything but moving the fabric evenly, not about what my foot is doing with the pedal.

when I got my machine, i used the start/stop button exclusively for about 2 years. loved it. but then decided that it really didn't work well for curves and even half square triangles. so I hooked up the foot pedal for a particular project, and now find it annoying to disconnect or reconnect the foot pedal, so now i use the foot pedal exclusively. the only inconvenience with the foot pedal is with winding bobbins. I loved the start/stop for bobbins, but I cannot use the start/stop when my foot pedal is connected. so alas, the pedal use continues.

I started using the start and stop button when I broke some bones in my foot.. I love it and have been using it ever since.
