I always do this. On all everything. But I have a little trick to add to it. I have an 18 year old daughter. LOL I make her do it with me. Tricks her in to having to spend time with me without her 3rd hand (cell phone :) )

She isn't very fast at it, but she does it and I enjoy the time. At her age, we argue quite a bit, and it is so peacefule sitting together. She still thinks quilting is a "grandma thing'" She's such a turkey! LOL

I always bring my bottom thread to the top when I start quilting but was unaware how to finish them. I always just cut them off. Thank you all so much for this info. This board is so informative and helpful.
