Tell yourself how absolutely wonderful it will be when you get it all done and how happpy you will be.

Now get off your butt, choose all the reds and go for it. Next are the pinks, then the blues, then the greens...and in no time you will be done.

Nudge, nudge. I promise you that if you go in there and wrap 12 fabrics and place them on the shelf you will love how it looks (your own quilting shop) and will be inspired to do more.
It will take some time for sure to do your large stash, but I assure you it will be time well spent.
We want to see pictures okay? I would come over and help you if I could, 'cause I just love to organize. :-)

Don't think of it as organizing----think of it as playing with fabric. With that much stash you may find some forgotten surprises. Just make sure you share pictures with us as you go.


Or the ultimate ultimatum----if you don't get that done, you won't be allowed to quilt!!!! :-P

Hey Bella just so you know I wrapped my fabric as well and used rubber bands from wal-mart but they leave a stain on your fabric :( Just thought I would share that I was disappointed. Sorry Brenda

I'll make it super easy on you... just send all that fabric to me! No muss, no fuss and you don't have to deal with all the organizing :)

It's easiest to focus on one small task at a time. Start with one tub, fold fabrics so they are all the same size and start laying them on the floor into the categories you think you'll use.

Then walk out and shut the door. Come back tomorrow and do another tub.

I can't wait to see it when it's done!

Try setting a timer for a short period of time--1 hour or 1/2 hour and work until the timer goes off. You'll be surprised how much you can get done if you know there is a limit.

(Sometimes you get so involved you go a little further, but that is beside the point.)

Thanks for the warning about the rubber bands! I haven't put the bands on all the fabrics yet. I'll take the ones I have off.

Can anyone tell me where the directions are for this great idea. I have everything I need except for cake boards, and have no idea what coloroplast boards are, or comic book boards. Please let me know. I have got to get organized. Mu fabric is spilling out into the hallway...hubby might see it. LOL

Wish PA and FL were a lot closer, I'd love to help fondle your fabrics with you!

I am starting to cut the comic book boards tonight so I'll be ready for them. I tried one and I am going to like it for smaller pieces.
It's my own fault for letting it get this bad before I did something about it.
I can't wait to see it done! When I'm looking for a fabric piece I remember I can never find it and that's so frustrating.
