has anyone used any of the Steady Betty products yet?
Do you think they are worth the money?

It is a pressing board that is suppose to hold the fabric steady when you press it. I haven't used one, I'm just very careful when I press.

I bought one and LOVE IT!! Got it at JoAnn online with a 50% off coupon. I don't have trouble with my fabric stretching now. WEll worth the money.

the scoop on the SB is that it does not let you iron, move the iron around, only press, just laying the iron down and then lifting up. It forces you to just press so you don't stretch or distort the fabric. Great for small piecing projects or thin strips or just if you tend to iron things all wonky. Also, it cools down quickly so you aren't buring your fingers.

If you go to the irong board witha 5 inch square and walk away with a 5 1/2 by 6 inch parallelagram.... it's the product for you :)

I saw them at several quilt shows and was thinking they are very over priced....

I can buy the replacement ironing board cover for half the price of a large board and make my own boards in various sizes!
WAs not sure how well it worked though...
I now see they have bands for your hands to use in FMQ and even a foot pedal cover now...alrighty then....I just want ironing surfaces I think!

I have the Steady Betty pressing board and I love it. When I first started trying to quilt I noticed that when I pressed the fabric, it look like some of it shrunk and/or lost its shape. I took a piece of it to Walmart and showed it to the lady in the fabric department. She said she was a quilter and told me about the Steady Betty. She said it would hold my fabric in place and prevent the stretching. She said they weren't cheap but were well worth the money. She was right. I could immediately see the difference in the fabric pressed before Steady Betty and that pressed after. My only regret is that I didn't buy the bigger size.

could you give a ball park figure on price?what sizes do theycome in?
