When you are pressing your seams, do you use steam? I thought you didn't want to do that, but the lady on Quilt In A Day steams hers.. Is there a right and wrong way or is it just preference? Thanks!

I use a dry iron on my blocks and the final press on the top is with steam. However, there has been a time or two that I had to use steam to flatten some stubborn or thick seams. I'm not sure that there is a rule as much as personal preference.

Mainly, I think it is personal preference. I steam mine.

I use steam most of the time.

I don't use steam. It seems to stretch my fabric.

I have a small spray bottle that I fill half full with water and into that I squirt a couple streams of spray starch. I use that with a dry iron.

don't use steam, I feel it could distort the fabric.

i never steam my seams.

the only time i'll ever use steam is when i'm pressing FQ/yards after washing - and even then i'd rather use starch.

I don't use steam either.
