When pricing a ruler I found that Joanns wanted $15 and the local quilt shop had it for $11.
They do raise the price to compensate for coupons.
I will not buy anything at Joanns without one.

I just bought some of their batting in a bag. It was BOGOF, so I got 4 total..

I agree it was up to the JA employee, but bless her sweet heart, she was really new, might of been her first day and she was obvioiusly nervous.

You could just tell that woman "had an attitude" when she wheeled that cart up and started making demands.....decided I would just keep my mouth shut !

The PLUS side is that while I was waiting I met a sweet 87 year old lady that told me she had had a stroke but was recovering enough to sew a bit and crochet....she told me she crocheted using that yarn....you know, the irrigation kind ! Could of hugged her neck but she looked so fragile i might of broken her bones !

Got my stuff, got my 20% discount, met the 87 year old.....the down side was when I checked out they gave me a coupon for 30% to be used this week....I just can't afford to keep saving money !

I have found that since Walmart stopped carrying fabric, Joann's raised their prices substantially. I can now get better quality and cheaper prices at my LQS. And they are alot friendlier too!

Sorry to say this but, every thing at Jo-Ann`s has gone up a lot. As did things all over I guess. Also they have less & less material in their ads that can be used for quilting. Tough all over.

I buy my batting from Joanns online. They have it precut in Crib, Twin, Full, Queen, and King sizes. I bought the king size for $20.00 and have used it for two blankets so far and have tons left for more.

I like Hobbs 80/20 batting (not the fusible version). It's a very nice soft, but slightly puffy, batting that is good for either hand or machine quilting. Washes up beautifully.

Do you mean you are using Warm and Natural batting? I Googled Warm and Gentle batting and couldn't find it. If you are accustomed to Warm and Natural, you will find the Hobbs 80/20 softer with a better drape; however, it will need closer quilting. W and N allows quilting lines up to 10 inches apart; Hobbs 80/20 is more like 4 inches apart.

I bought 8 bolts of Warm and Natural batting several years ago when I found a clearance going out of business sale. I'm still using it for most of my quilts. I paid $12.50 a bolt with 15 yards on the bolt. Not having to buy batting now saves me lots of money so I don't mind buying silk and wool battings for some of my quilts. Never pass up a great clearance sale on anything you know you will use.

Check Hobby Lobby for a price on their Warm & Natural....I think it's a better price.
