Our local Joann's does not have enough people at the cutting tables either. I waitied for over an hour one day for cutting then stood in line for another 30 minutes to check out. LQS and on-line look really good to me.

Good customer service is a big thing for me, I will not darken their door step very often if they do not serve their customers. Bad part is, it is not always the help, they are understaffed, that is the reason in a lot of places.

I found that you can buy batting on EBAY as well.

My skin isn't that thick but some employees would rather just get that woman out of there before she makes a bigger scene. But I agree she needed to take a number and as the customer I would of spoke up and told her to take a number or given her mine to shut her up if she started to squawk.

Just watch for their 50% off sales...then buy as much as you can afford of the Warm & Natural on the bolt.

I bought some Hobbs 80/20 at my local JAF for $7.99 a yard and that was NOT including the 40% off. Next time there is a 50% off, I am going to buy the whole bolt. It was a mini roll that had the batting folded in half and then in half again. It was only 27' tall. I didn't notice how much yardage was on the roll. It is so much smoother on the roll than when stuff into those plastic bags. NEVER can get those wrinkles OUT !!!

I noticed our walmart is getting the pre-cuts now for $8 for two different fabrics. Most I don't care for.

This is what my LAQ used in my quilt. I love the drape, the warmth, and the washability. Now it is what I buy.
