why was all her things in a trailer? I do not understand, feel bad for her anyway though. What a horrible thing to have happened to her.

I would think it was a camper type trailer with wheels that someone attached to a hitch and drove off with it. No other way to steal a trailer without a lot of time involved. I think a camper has to be licensed and insured like a vehicle if it is used on the road. I hope the police find the person responsible so the contents may at least be salvaged, not much punishment is given to thieves these days.

We have a lady close to us and she has her business in a 5th wheel. But, I am sure she would still carry insurance on it. She sews sells fabrics and has a quilting machine in it.

Awful!

unfortunately her insurance company might not cover a biz that was not properly secured. A trailer that can be stolen easily is in high demand..they use them for portable Meth labs!
Hope she gets the stuff back.... |
That is too bad.

You guys forget that just because a small business is trying to survive - not all can afford insurance. An owner has to make enough margin with their sales to live - that's darn hard to do these days. Usually just the sales tax collected and remitted to the state is more money than the profit that is left. Somebody in that town knows where that trailer went. I'd put a big notice in the closest newspaper. Darn that makes me so angry.
Anybody that owns a camper, trailer of any kind should paint their phone number on the top in the largest letters possible - or some identifiable symbol from the air. |
Here is the web article about this. There is a video that will start if you click on it, it is on the right hand side. http://www.wect.com/Global/story.asp?S=13806532
No amount of "insurance" money is going to bring back what she had in that trailer. Some people get that money isn't everything in life! |
