I have done this with my flannel back table cloth that is my design wall. It sort of lost its cling somewhere along the way. Works quite well for a while, and now I think I need to redo it.

Did you test it in a vertical position at the store? With my design wall if a corner isn't secure the weight of the blocks will make the whole thing fall. It just rolls off, especially if it's several blocks or the whole top pieced together. Sometimes I use a few pins.

I have mine tipped out at the bottom just a little to help things stay on

I'm like you - sometimes I find a few pins helps. I use a flannel backed tablecloth. This week I had to replace it as it lost its sticking power. Next time I will try a bit of spray.

I didn't think of the spray, great idea! Thanks. I sometimes have trouble with my tiny blocks on my tablecloth back as they have more weight per sq inch and don't like to stay up.

I just put batting up and it worked great on the 16"

I also have some spray to try on the other wall...

The few tablecloths I tried didn't work. I don't want to sew together the felt I have (plus, it's orange).

I'm getting there... let me keep trying the suggestions here. I hang it by some clips over a door so it's completely vertical.

I did smooth it carefully. Then I beat it with frustration. ;-) dang thing...

I have fleece blanket kids and I'm sure I can spare one for my wall! Ok... off to give it a shot. I have a 72x72 top that will be a real test.

Has anyone every used a hammer to flatten seams? I have a small tack hammer that works great to reduce bulk! Try it.
