:) very happy but myself I don't know

I love stripes and think that stores don't have enough of them! I especially like them as narrow borders.

Shirting fabrics are good sources for stripped materials. The quality is good and the colors are fairly muted,

As others have said, I like stripes for binding, but because I'm "visually - perceptually" handicapped {{{wink}}}, I tend to avoid their use in triangles, etc. because when I think they will be going in one direction, they end up in the other direction. It tickles my brain to keep turning them around to have the stripe going in the proper direction. Bottom line is, No, not too many stripes.

Geta's tute shows exactly how I made my table topper and more. Geta you are so clever!

Do you personally use stripes? What do you use them for? |
I don't do stripes. Always worried I will cut them wrong and they will look junky.

In my Quilter's World magazine they had a pretty quilt called String Star, Amish Style. The star was made of strips that made each diamond shape striped. When I looked at it I though it would be great for someone who had a big stash of scraps. But to just get the effect, I wondered why somneone didn't just use a striped fabric. The stripes of each diamond don't match up, and that actually contributes to the definition of the star. So I think it could be used for a quicky version of a striped star?

Egads !!!
After 25 something years in the Upholstery business, I can't stand plaids or stripes. I don't think I have either in my stash of fabrics. |

I enjoy using stripes. Sometimes I had trouble using them in in blocks, the direction was not always what I expected. If I had enough fabric I could get it to work. Those quilts have been given away, but I had one here that I used effectively in borders and sashing, and that's the easiest.

Beautiful. I love the stipes and colors. Stars are a nice touch.

I love the way this stripe bordering works. Must experiment with this.

In Jan Krentz's latest book there is a fabulous rising sun quilt made all with stripes which is my dream quilt. I've been collecting striped batiks to make it. At first they were hard to find but I'm finding more and more on the internet.

I love stripes in bindings. So much interest and movement along the edge of your quilt.

Hi Greta: Just spent an hour looking at your website/blog. Wow! You do gorgeous, beautiful work. I just finished a Kaleidescope quilt top that I love. I want to make another so I appreciated your info on this. Thank you.

I like using really bright (primary colors) stripes for borders and binding for kids quilts.

I love stripes!

I, like several others here, sometimes use stripes for binding. I don't really like using them for anything but binding.
