Robert Kaufman is coming out with a new collection of striped fabrics - 14 colorways in all. That's a lot of stripes!

Do you personally use stripes? What do you use them for?

I often buy stripes, especially multi-coloured. I like doing the binding with them if colours suitable.

I guess I haven't bought any stripes because I'm not sure how to use them either. If I did more clothes sewing, would buy them for that. I wish the powers that be would make more clothes with stripes, especially tops as they tend to make a person look taller and slimmer and I could use that.

I have used them in borders and in sashing, but these stripes are a bit much. I can also see them used in totes. It will be interesting to see what patterns they offer to showcase the fabric.

i love stripes! there are so many ways to use a stripe, going (long ways) cross cut, mitered, sashing strips, borders, accents...pick up a couple and experiment, you will have fun!

I just recently found a nice striped material to use with something in the future... maybe sashing or borders. stripes next to a print are nice too.

I do not use them myself, but maybe someday :)

I agree that this would make a great tote for summer. I also use stripes as lining for bags and purses.

I Cut on the bias and use as my binding. Gives a lot of interest to the edge of a quilt. When I see a strip4 I buy it and sometimes look for fabrics with the same colors and plan a quilt around the stripe that will be the binding.

I think they look good as blenders but never use them as I get totally frustrated if they do not stay straight up and down. Sure are pretty though.
