I'd make or get an applique of a flying saucer or something else "spacey" that would go with that fabric if the repairs don't work on that hole.

I, too, have repaired a hole that size for a customer. Used the same fabric and fussy cut a square and hand stitched right on the top of the quilt. I had to look very hard to find it when it was finished. Try it.....

I agree, appliques something on top of the hole ... a planet, a star, or even a 'black hole' ...

I would hand applique something over it. I once fixed a hole by "fussy cutting" a patch and it blended right in, using very small stitches. What a pretty quilt. I've had cats that like to sleep on the quilts I'm making, but so far none have made any holes. Good luck and don't kill the cat. You can yell though.

This quilt will be around for many, many years. Take an hour to rip out the torn piece and replace it. You'll be happy you did so every time you look at it. I have experienced fixing and not fixing and the little bit of time it takes to fix something is worth it.

When cats don't have a cat companion they can eat natural fibers. The cure is to get him or her a companion to keep him company and they won't chew holes in your quilts again.

I love furbabies, other peoples' furbabies. The last thing I would do is to get that cat a brother or sister. Nothing like more holes in quilts! No offense please! I would have a fit if a cat or other furbaby put a hole in one of my quilts. Hiss at her really loud, maybe she will get the message.
