I am so jealous. I am in a windowless office working away on this @#$% computer. I would much rather be sewing on my picnic table.

thepolyparrot 06-14-2011 06:31 AM

Gosh, that's so pretty! Those colors are magnificent! Way to go!! :)

GramaLaura 06-14-2011 06:31 AM

Great idea!! Love the quilt! :-D

MOBRIDGE MOM 06-14-2011 06:46 AM

I think I will have to try this. Now if I can just be home on a day when it's nice out.

amma 06-14-2011 07:05 AM

How fun to be able to be outdoors and sew too :D:D:D

Conniequilts 06-14-2011 07:22 AM

I do this too. Haven't done anything as large as this beautiful quilt but I do love sitting outside sewing.

Grandma Peg 06-14-2011 07:54 AM

Love the quilt. Nice that your husband helped you.

VickyOH 06-14-2011 08:40 AM

Very pretty. Love the idea of sewing outside.

dixiebelle162002 06-14-2011 08:43 AM

Very pretty quilt, and what a great idea to sew outside on a nice day! :-D :-D

AngieS 06-14-2011 08:43 AM

Wow! That is nice!!

IBQUILTIN 06-14-2011 08:58 AM

Lucky you!!!!! I can't wait to get the patio set up so I can sew out there. Still too much pollen in the air and everything turns yellow with it

Even tho your pic is blurry, it still looks like a great quilt!

My thought exactly, we haven't had to many nice days like that.

cowgirlquilter 06-14-2011 09:32 AM

What a great idea.....I may just have the perfect place on my front porch....hmmmmmmm.....(pondering the idea)

a favorite camping trip took us "up north" to jay cook state park. hubby and daughter brought bicycles to ride the Munger trail, and i brought my sewing machine and sewed under the fall leaves and perfect sunshine and cool breeze.

your day look absolutely perfect, and the quilt is lovely! win-win!!

usewgirl 06-14-2011 12:21 PM

Love your quilt and what a sweet husband.

twixbar 06-14-2011 01:35 PM

Nice way to sew, beautiful day.

CristyK1 06-14-2011 01:58 PM

Can't wait to do this. I want to sew out back while the kids are playing but have to wait till school lets out and we get back form vacation.

elm 06-14-2011 03:04 PM

Thanks for sharing your beautiful quilt and day.

vivoaks 06-14-2011 03:06 PM

Turned out very nice! Great job!!

stitchntimesewing 06-14-2011 03:33 PM

What a great idea. Sewing outside.

olebat 06-14-2011 03:49 PM

We had a couple of Spring days here, but it rained both days, now it is summer, even though the calender says otherwise, and it is too hot and dry to consider sitting outside sipping a tall, cold drink, much less working. On top of it all, we're still getting some smoke from the fires in the Okefenokee. I'm envious of all of you who can set up your quilting tents and tables, and sip your morning Java in your gardens.

elm 06-14-2011 03:58 PM

Hope you have a window with a pretty view that you can sit by. When I once had a classroom with no windows, I found posters that were window views of beautiful landscapes and seascapes and hung them on the wall opposite my desk. The students enjoyed them as much as I did. So, if your sewing area isn't near a window, maybe a picture would help.

raedar63 06-14-2011 04:01 PM

That is wonderful to get out and enjoy the beautiful day.

gramquilter2 06-14-2011 04:40 PM

What a great day of sewing you must have had. I really enjoy sewing outside. Love your quilt.

misscarol 06-14-2011 06:07 PM

I opened every window in my studio! It was almost as good as sewing outside. :)

TexasSunshine 06-14-2011 07:14 PM

I would like to be able to quilt outside, but it was 100 degrees out today.

alikat110 06-14-2011 10:36 PM

Couldn't do that here!

montanajan 06-14-2011 10:44 PM

Pretty quilt - nice hubby! Looks fun to sew outside.
I'd be covered with mosquitoes if I set my machine up outside. As it is, I can hardly stand to tend the garden & flowers we have so many mosquitoes right now - probably from our rainy spring - lots of breeding grounds (water) for the little buggers.

Marvel 06-26-2011 06:34 AM

We used to set our frames on the screened in porch and sew away. Its so refreshing. Glad you finished that beautiful quilt for you DH. I appreciate my Dh also. It is so beautifully done.

charlotte625 06-26-2011 06:37 AM

how wonderful,a day outside and quilting too with your hubby
what a way to spent the day

Alondra 08-04-2011 06:44 PM

Very pretty! This is definitely not outdoor sewing time (or outdoor anything time) in this area... it was 101 today! Ugh!

AbbyQuilts 08-04-2011 07:10 PM

Beautiful!!! I would love to sew outside but right now it is too hot and I dont have anywhere to sew outside. Maybe that is something to think about when we build our covered porch hmmm

wanda lou 08-04-2011 09:38 PM

what a great way to spend the day.

ShowMama 08-05-2011 07:25 AM

If I tried quilting outdoors right now my sewing machine would melt from the heat and I'd be burned to a crisp! It's so great that you have nice weather and can go outside, but it looks like we'll be sweltering in Texas for a while yet.

GAgal 08-05-2011 09:10 AM

Very pretty colors in your quilt. I can't think about sewing outside until January (maybe)!
