Hi all~I'm hoping to get some suggestions for a fast and easy quilt top I can make with only 3 different fabrics. I have a light, mediium and dark that go together nicely and my son "is hoping I might be able to make him quick a quilt" with them.
Thanks! |
A Rail Fence comes to mind.

Warm wishes, particularly if one of yours is a focus fabric.
D9P and D4P would be do-able too. |
I also like the rail fence, its very quick and easy to do, and always turns out nicely :)

I'm making one with half hexigons and it looks 3 D. I don't have enough done yet to take a picture of it, but it does require the Y seams and it is a pretty quilt. Will post a pic when I have enough done. HAve a great day, Huggies, Fay

missouri star quilt has a tute on the half hex with all straight seams. so easy I did it!I did mine in scrappy though for the grands. in column like the coin stack. and I agree the rail fence is a good choice for 3 fabrics

Rail fence alternated with nine-patch blocks. Cut all fabrics in 3 1/2 inch strips----an idea from Bonnie Hunter---strip piece three and cut into 9 1/2 inch squares for rail fence and 3 1/2inches for the nine-patch.

D9P, warm wishes, 4 patch.

Alternate snowball and 9-patch.
color 1 - main part of snowball color 2 - triangles on snowball, X on 9-patch color 3 - the center top/bottom/side squares on the 9-patch. |
