Is anyone working on this now or if not have you worked on it at all. I'm going to get started soon and need a little help.

I just bought the book used and made one square.
Im dissapointed that some blocks that would be easy to piece are for paper piecing. I do not like paper piecing so will have to take measurements and convert the block pattern. I wanted to make a Dear Jane quilt but the 4 inch blocks are too small so thought the 6 in blocks for the bridal quilt would be easier to do. I needed some background fabric so ordered some and got sidetracked in the meantime. Now I need to get back to it. I decided to make it with civil war fabrics but it is a modern block pattern. What colors are you using? |
I'm using scraps that I have with a cream Kona background. I thought it would be a good way to use up some material. I'm a little confused about cutting the templates. What did you use, how did you trace them etc.

here's a link to the quilt for those, like me, not familiar with it :)

I have the book and it is in my "to do list".

I finished my quilt, which I did over about a year and a few months.
I coordinate an online BOW group for the author. We do one block a week and there are tips, monthly drawings, etc. Join us by visiting http://www.sylviasbridalsampler.com. Click on BOW and look for the sign up instructions in the left column. Here's a photo of mine: |
That's just gorgeous. I may have to re-think using the cream background. I love all the bright colors. I did go on to that website but I had trouble getting it to work.

It's on my to do list.

I recently borrowed the book from the Library again but I regret to say thatit may have to take a back seat because I have 3 little ones that need updated quilts that I hope to have ready for them by Christmas. I will get started on it thought by the end of the year hopefully! I'm going to do mine in Asian fabrics......I know.....it will be my own personal twist...
