Do you make your own name tag for you quilts or do you order them?

Make my own...either an iron on pattern I put on a piece of muslin, fill in the info with a permanent pen, then sew to the quilt; or sometimes I just sign the back of the quilt in a corner with my name and the date. That's what I do for most charity quilts.

I call them labels and I make my own with as much info about the maker/receiver/date/design/techniques as I can.

I made my own this last time. I used my embroidery machine and added some designs to it too. I really like how it turned out and it was so easy. My step daughter was just so pleased with the label and it having a special message just for her.

I,too, use my embroidery machine. I put the recepients name, some kind of saying that fits them or the occasion, my name and the date.
|
I make mine in EQ and print on fabric. I like to make a frame border of a block used in the quilt. Once when my granddaughters were eagerly unpacking a quilt from a gift bag I overheard them saying "quick let's see what the note says!" Cute!
|
I make them myself and also make them for others with my embroidery machine. I posted an ad on the members buy/sell thread.

Sometimes I make my own. other times I use some of the preprinted labels and write on them with a permanent pen, or use a leftover block and write in the light areas. They can be drawn on muslin with permanent colored pens also. There are many ways to get a label on a quilt and it is important to do so with every one. I have a ragged old quilt with no label and found a picture of it with a date. It is 50 years old! No wonder it is worn out. I also inherited quilts with no labels and we don't know when they were made, just have to guess.

I make my own with my embroidery program.

I make mine too.

I make my own on my embroidery machine.

I make my own....the last baby quilt I made had dragons in it and I traced one of the dragons on white fabric and colored with fabric pens....then wrote the info on it. Turned out real cute.

I make my own using Microsoft Word. I try to have at least 2 (better if I have 3) quilts that need labels so I can get the "most" out of a sheet of Computer Printer Fabric. I've also used the iron-on transfer labels from books.
|
I make my own. You need an inkjet printer to do it.
I spray 505 on a piece of 100 pct cotton and smooth it onto a sheet of printer paper. I already have my design all set up in the computer and then I print it out. I then separate it from the printer paper and set the ink with a DRY iron. I then wash it with cold water and vinegar for extra insurance and iron it again. This way if it is going to run (only usually because the cotton I thought was 100 pct was not), I know before putting it on the quilt. Then I applique it onto the quilt back. |
I have label maker on my computer and that is what I use.
Lots of designs, etc. to chose from. Betty Lee |

I make my own with my printer/scanner.
There is a lot of material on doing this if you use the SEARCH on this site. It is so easy, creative, and fun. ali |
I make my own. I embroider them by hand!

Oh, that label is special. I made a rag quilt for my granddaughter's best friend and she was more concerned about the LABEL I was going to put on it than she was the quilt. ha. She had seen an embroidered label and she wanted one "like that".... She just knew she wanted it "special"...
|
I make my own too. It isn't hard...just put on all the information you want including date and name of piecer(s) and quilter(s). Include who it is for and occasion (if there is one) and name of the quilt. I have seen them with this info machine stitched as well, but I just use a permanent fine point marker. :-D

I write my label in "Word" on my computer. Then I iron my label fabric onto the shiny side of freezer paper. Then feed the freezer paper, fabric side up, through my computer and print my label! Iron well to set the ink.

i make personal labels for my quilts, containing the name of the quilt, any pertinent information concerning patterns, designs; my name, date, city, state, fiber content, care instructions and if it is a personal quilt the persons name and any other pertinent info is also included. i have written whole letters for labels on quilts when it was what needed to be included.

I make my own using my Brother Duetta embroidery machine. Everyone is quite impressed when they see their name on the label, along with the date & that I made it with love for the person.
