Love your quilts. Thank you for the graceful way you said what's in my heart. I stumbled onto this site, can't even remember how it happened but I'm here almost every day. Always great information, a laugh and sometimes a tear.

mhansen6 03-17-2011 06:44 AM

First, your quilts are lovely. You do a wonderful job.

Second, I too have learned so much off this board. When I posted my first, and only so far, picture of a quilt I had finished the response was overwhelming. It actually brought tears to my eyes. It gave me confidence to try something new. I read this board every morning. I try to limit my time since I work full time to about an hour a day. But sometimes it ends up more than that.

Thank you to all the people who keep this board running.

Beatiful quilts. I am sorry for your loss. I am going through this with my mother at the present. I take my blocks to show her when I see her at the Long Term Care. She is the one that taught me to sew. So many wonderful memories that can never be taken away.

Happy Tails -- I appreciated what you said about bindings. I did the same thing with that tutorial and like you, I follow it and my bindings are a cinch--right the first time!!
Glad you enjoy the board. Your quilts are lovely. I like the scrappy "wonky" one.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I know what you are going through. I lost my first husband after only 1 1/2 yrs.

grannie cheechee 03-17-2011 12:15 PM

Sorry for your lose, but keep up your good work. We will keep you on the site!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tinliz 03-17-2011 12:31 PM

I am rather new to the board, but I learned a lot from the other quilters. I am so sorry for all your losses. I have found quilting and friendships with other quilters to be a excellent source of support. I was ill for about 2 years and missed a lot of my guild meetings. The gals were supportive through it all and now express happiness with me that I am able to get to the meetings and share in the joy of quilting. I do not think I have ever met a quilter that doesn't have a warm heart. Blessings for your day

Wendy, your quilts are truly beautiful. I think you are a little hard on yourself. Our parents give us a feeling of security, and when they are gone we must find our security elsewhere. So glad you are a member of this board. I love it, too.

scrappylady 03-17-2011 01:58 PM

Your quilts are lovely. I need to find this Tute because i can't bind a quilt without wanting to scream!!!!
Your parents are enjoying "watching" you do your quilts.
This Board is such a support group, and to think we are from all over the world, helping one another!!!

laurilli 03-17-2011 02:12 PM

I am sorry for your loss. I lost my son 15 years ago Tuesday, this time of year is always hard for me, but it does get better- one day at a time. I agree with you this board is great!

MiMi in Lutz 03-17-2011 02:15 PM

Beautiful quilts...that wonky one (I think that is what they call it) is really beautiful, cheery and bright! Love the colors :-o
Will pray for you. I feel the same about my mother but thank God she is still with us. She is 85 next month and I tell her she cant go until I do. She is also my best friend :) So was my brother and I lost him...so believe me, I know how you feel. Blessings and love to you :)

You guys are scaring me-is this site in trouble or getting ready to disband? I love coming here and have learned so much! Would hate to think that it may be gone soon. (Some of you can probably hear me sob!)

luce321 03-17-2011 02:48 PM

Your quilts are beautiful! So sorry for your loss. I lost my husband a year and a half ago and I miss him so much. We were married 51 years. Happy to have you with us. I just joined recently and have learned so much from all of you. I look forward to logging on every day to see what everyone is doing.

Thank you for sharing your story and your quilts, they look wonderful. I am relatively new to the board but have already taken advantage of the tutorials and also send thanks to those who make them. I send my condolences for your losses, my parents are 84 and 82 and I cherish them.

Losing your parents is tough but part of life and sooner or later we all share in that.

I'm with you 100% about the people on this board. To take time to help others you probably will never meet -- that is love.

God bless Wendy.

Stacey 03-17-2011 04:41 PM

You "struggle" beautifully. Love your scrappy quilt.

Crabby Patty 03-17-2011 04:45 PM

I'm so sorry for your losses. I can tell you first hand that the pain lessens but the memories remain. I lost my mom, dad, and only sibling within 3 years. I couldn't understand why I was left but thank God he left me the memories. Beautiful quilts. I think maybe that is the answer. Do things and surround yourself with things you love (including this board). I think that will help. God bless you.

kacy 49 03-17-2011 05:03 PM

So sorry to hear about your Mom and your Dad. I agree with you about this board. I don't add comments often, but I so enjoy reading this board. I love all the things that I have learned on here. I feel like we are all friends here, even if we never meet. Your quilts are lovely. You do a good job.

Great quilts!

You are a magician. Those quilts are "Freaken" Awesome LOL>
Really they are. I know what you mean about this board. My wife was just diagnosed with breast cancer and the board became a quilting machine. She has gotten blocks and quilts from all over the world for her chemo and radiation.
It is amazing. I am totally in love with my QB angels.
Keep up the good work
Love
Robert

I can't thank you guys enough for your kind words regarding both my quilts and my dear little mother. Honest to God, I've been through lots in my life, as I'm sure we all have, but I have never experienced pain like this....we were such a constant part of each others lives. I would always say there's mothers and then there's mine. It might not even be so hard if she had been just my mother, but my best friend and roomie. I used to call us Min and Maude, the spinster sisters..........I feel like I should be handeling it better than I am I miss her so much....I know time will help, but really, not very much matters to me anymore....but I really am trying.......Thanks again............Wendy

QuickStitch 03-17-2011 08:01 PM
