I love this idea and I'm so glad you thought of it. I never have the floor space to use and even if I did, with two dogs underfoot, I'm sure some dog hair would find its way into the quilt. I have tons of wall space though. I like the idea of a muslin strip to anchor the three layers two. This is one brilliant idea on your part!!

lol. That's what I ended up doing when working on Nick's quilt. It was difficult for me trying to sandwich things together that finally I decided to baste the batting to the back and than sew that to the top. I got the idea to pin the backing to the wall with push pins and then pin the batting to the backing. Worked just fine. It seemed like a crazy idea at the time so I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of it. :D

Been thinking about those old curtain stretchers. Am having husb. find his mothers old one and see it the pins are long enough to put all 3 layers on them. Seems like if I get them on that and then pull it straight and tight enough might be able to either pin or sew it to be able to quilt it on machine. What do you think?? I have a hunch most of the nails are rusted out and the wood has split because it's so dry.
