Stay home! -Then quickly decided not too! Run and enjoy!

littlehud 11-20-2010 08:20 PM

I can't talk you out of that. If it was me I would start resting up for it today.

Mariposa 11-20-2010 08:21 PM

You go, Girl!

Colorful Quilter 11-20-2010 11:43 PM

Think of all the money you'll save, I hear fabric is going up in price after the 1st of the year . HAPPY shopping

Scotlass 11-21-2010 12:45 AM

Skip the extra helping of turkey and dressing and get on the road for those fabulous savings! It isn't just a rumor about the increase in fabric prices. I was at my LQS today and the owner said that a combination of failed cotton crops around the world and increased tarifs you can expect are you ready?? Up to a 45% increase! I was hoping that I heard wrong, but that is what she said.

lol I will be with you in spirit. There is NO way I would do it any other way. You go girl!

MerryQuilter 11-21-2010 05:29 AM

Go soo much better fabric than Wal Mart!

grann of 6 11-21-2010 05:33 AM

Well, I adopted a motto after I went through my husband's illness and death....Life is short, if you want it and can afford it, then you should have it. Therefore I say, go shopping EARLY and enjoy yourself. LQSs always have the best fabric, better than Joann, WalMart or any of the chain stores so have a ball!!! We will all be thinking of you.

quiltinghere 11-21-2010 05:34 AM

Go and invest in your future quilting projects!

Organize your stash by color group or theme and see what your missing. Make a list so you're not 'just buying to buy' - unless of course the fabric yells out at you to take it home.

Have fun - take pictures - you know we're all jealous!

Rettie V. Grama 11-21-2010 05:56 AM

That really sounds great. I am familiar with area. Been nearh there many times while traveling south, even when it was Old Route 66. It is about a 4 hour drive from my home. I won't be going. Boo Hoo.

Have fun!

Does this shop have a website so that some of the rest of us can get in on the sale on Friday?

quiltlin 11-21-2010 06:27 AM

Yes, $4 would be a great buy. Get there early and be first in line and know exactly which fabric you want the most and grab those bolts. It could be like Filene's Department Store wedding dress sale!!!! And remember....fabric is definitely going up so it really is a good deal!!!!

thseabreze 11-21-2010 07:37 AM

no..don't stay home..GO, and get the quality fabrics for half price...wish I could go to a sale like that. I went to Joanns the other day, so disapointing. They had 50% off some things...
I really believe, they actually buy fabrics that no one else will take, or things that other stores send back...I will never go there for fabric again.

sahm4605 11-21-2010 07:39 AM

we want to see all the pics of the fabric and stuff that you end up taking home. have fun!!!

OHSue 11-21-2010 07:49 AM

Put the charge card in the freezer, cause it will be smoking by Firday afternoon. Have fun!

steelecg 11-21-2010 08:03 AM

If there is something that you truly love, go for it - but I have decided that if I don't know what I want to do with it, I don't have to have it

chrissy 11-21-2010 09:00 AM

Everyone needs more fabric.

marmalade 11-21-2010 10:01 AM

I am of the thought that you have to spend money to save money...think of all the money you will be saving...and then you can spend it on Christmas presents :)

IBQUILTIN 11-21-2010 10:25 AM

Oh for Goodness sakes, Stay home and pout. Now was that really what you wanted to hear? Get out there and BUY BUY BUY. Enjoy the savings. Just think, you can do 2 quilts for the price of one. And don't forget the batting.

leonajo 11-21-2010 10:50 AM

go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't tell you to stay home, cuz I'm going with you...um, where is it, lol!

Mousie 11-21-2010 10:58 AM

hee hee hee...just read all the other comments. I can see we all agree...your going, or you wouldn't even be trying to get somebody else to make you stay home, you'd just do it.
We want to hear all about your goodies! woo hoo!
(stay home? we're talking Moda's for goodness sake!) ;)

Fancy Nancy 11-21-2010 11:31 AM

there is a website listed but can't get it to pull up - not sure why. it is called Sticks and Stones Innovations (in Jacksonville IL) Small store really but nice fabric. They sell lots of yarn. That part of store is not going out of business.

patski 11-21-2010 12:23 PM

I found a way NOT to buy too much fabric, I iron everything I have the night before! I have enough for the next 5 years anyway!! Of course now I keep buying new rulers

Bev 11-21-2010 01:35 PM

I'd go if I had to take out a mortgage on my house to pay for it!!

Jenniky 11-21-2010 01:38 PM

Sounds like fun.. go go go

grammyv 11-21-2010 03:02 PM

sewbeit 11-21-2010 03:33 PM

go and enjoy yourself..besides...you know the price of cotton is going up very soon..so buy lots, you wont be going there anymore anyhow..

Blinky 11-21-2010 04:12 PM

I am NOT the one to tell you NOT to go. I ran into the same deal before I left San Antonio and moved here. Brand new quilt shop opened up and didn't make it and was selling fabric for 50% off. Well, need I tell you more? My husband gets stressed when he sees fabric come in the door.

penski 11-21-2010 04:15 PM

yipeeeeeeeeeeeee that is about 30 miles from me !!!!! but the sad part is i cant go on friday,(i know , work gets in the way ) Monday would be the soonest !! let me know if there is anything left so i can go Monday

Annz 11-21-2010 04:19 PM

You cann't pass up a deal like that. 50% off. Get some rest Thursday night, bring lots of cash and just think that you may not have to go fabric shopping for a very long time. It is worth it. G0 GIRL

Check their hours for Bad Friday in case they open earlier then you think. Good luck - don't forget to post your deals

Blinky 11-21-2010 04:29 PM

I am really depressed now...I want to go too! Take advantage of this...kinda once in a lifetime!

Vanuatu Jill 11-21-2010 04:39 PM

I suggest you select a few patterns you want to make and make a copy of the finished item (in black and white won't influence your color choices) and fabric requirements and take them with you!! It MIGHT help limit the amount (I said MIGHT) and you will be able to rationalize easier that you will be getting only what you need to make them. THEN, you don't have to feel so quilty when all those other fabrics make their way into your basket!! I do that so I don't find I should have bought 4 yards of that fabulous blue Moda for my border and I only bought 3!!! Be sure to post pics of your haul!!

they are closed mondays but will let you know if anything left. Where do you live?

MISHNJIM 11-21-2010 05:36 PM

I think you need to go to the LQS first and then if there's extra $$ over then you can shop at those other stores...LOL

SittingPretty 11-21-2010 05:44 PM

$4.00 a yard? You have to go! you'll hate yourself if you don't! lol

Sandynorm 11-21-2010 06:08 PM

I have 2 thoughts on going... you could consider it an investment towards retirement! I frequently justify buying more fabric this way. The other thought is that life is not a rehersal, so do what you want to, and if you enjoy buying fabric, I say go for it.
