Tell me what you will be sewing tonight?

Tell me, tell me! I will be working on my purples! Around the world.................... for my Aunt Mae.... She sure could use a quilt in this cold weather..

nyelphaba 01-25-2013 05:36 AM

I have decided to finish the 5 UFOs I have. So far I have finished 2, and today I am going to get out the third and begin the finishing process. It has to be ironed, sandwiched and quilted (tonight will be the ironing). I am not starting any new projects until these are completed (except for the 2 BOMs I began this month).

WOW! #3 has been a UFO for so long, I just went to get it and to my surprise- it is completely ironed and sandwiched! So tonight I will be getting the quilting process underway, you know- locating the correct thread, winding bobbins and talking myself into it.

Toni C 01-25-2013 05:47 AM

I am hoping to finish a Christmas UFO.

Raggiemom 01-25-2013 05:51 AM

I have some UFOs that need to be finished this weekend. I want to start something new but trying to hold out until they're caught up.

Tonight one more reverse quilt block . Then consider the next step in this quilt and how much more fabric I need.

carslo 01-25-2013 06:57 AM

I will be working on my BOM Around the Farmyard, sashing, flying geese and corner stones!

willferg 01-25-2013 07:34 AM

I want to finish my nephew's lap quilt -- I got his wife's done last weekend. Once those two are done, I can put together the blocks I made for a teacher's quilt, and THEN I can start on my neutrals quilt for another teacher, the one quilt I am looking forward to working on!

Diannia 01-25-2013 07:40 AM

I have 3 projects I'm working on and all are at the stage I can sit and watch tv while doing them...1) pinning 2 parts of blocks together to complete the block on a scrappy quilt, 2) crocheting hats for the homeless, 3) the final embroidery square on the "Winter Wonderland" quilt I started about 5 yrs ago! I'd say I have enough for the whole weekend!

I had an out of town guest this past two weeks. He flew home last night. I look forward to starting a lattice type quilt out of a jelly roll I recently purchased. It is an overcast day, perfect time to start my new project. I have spent the hour reviewing posts here and now off to play with my fabric.

lynnie 01-25-2013 08:04 AM

Didnt fall asleep till 5:30 am, so i worked on an easter table runner.

Quilting a wedding quilt for a customer. It will probably keep me busy for several days. I'll sure be glad when it is done so I can get back to my own quilting!

EllieGirl 01-25-2013 08:36 AM

I'm FMQing a lap quilt for my daughter. It's made from lavendar shades of FQ from Bernatex.

PolkaBabe 01-25-2013 08:45 AM

Quilt-T 01-25-2013 08:56 AM

I was planning to try to work on the back of my MQ from 2012, but alas fabric shortage has struck again! Searched online and at the shop I got it from and (KABLOOEY) nothing! So I am depressed about not being able to locate a 2nd fabric to finish this back. I will have to put it away in my "never to be finished" pile. I'm really disappointed that I wasted a lot of precious time and $$ only to wind up short again! I really hate living overseas and only getting a bit of fabric at a time. So I am not entering my sewing room again until I can find something small to work on again. All of this is because of cutting errors in the pattern. My usual more than I need didn't work out because of this! Boo!!!

hudgoddess 01-25-2013 09:28 AM

Today, I will be working on what will hopefully be my last "Puppy". This one should be the cover model for the pattern. He's going to be cream colored fleece and a lightweight tan and black spotty fake fur. I'm hoping it looks like he has a spotty belly that you just can't resist petting! And I'm hoping I can get him done in 7 hours flat. That's my goal!

dogtrnr 01-25-2013 09:29 AM

Judy L. had a sit and sew on NYD to sew a simple pattern for QOV. I cut out enough for 4 - yes, you read that right, 4- and will be working on those tonight. A 6 1/2" railfence boxed in with 2 1/2" strips. I've got all the railfence blocks made, and am working on the next part!

After washing and drying the fabrics I chose for TWIST a 82" by 99" quilt pattern; I found in Big Book of Best-Loved Quilt Patterns. I ironed the light fabric last night and even cut out the necessary squares. Only to discover that I did not have enough of the fabric. So went searching and decided on a white. Now instead of a three fabric quilt, it will be a four fabric quilt. That is unless I discover today that I do not have enough of the other two fabrics. I am really excited about starting this quilt. It is my first one in over 4 months...between packing, moving, unpacking and settling in to our new home. So sure hope that this works out. It also requires partial seams, which I have never done before. Sure hope all goes well.

Sure enjoy reading what everyone is doing!

girliegirl 01-25-2013 09:46 AM

Well, chop chop ya'll.... get it? chop chop.... hee hee

Jackie Spencer 01-25-2013 10:04 AM

I will be working on the quilt I started day after Christmas. Took me 3 days just to cut it out, very labor intensive piecing. I finally have all the components made, when I get them sewed together, I'll actually have blocks. This is a Queen size quilt.

sandy l 01-25-2013 10:10 AM

I will still be curled up on the couch envying all of you. Have had a really nasty cold/flu for the past couple of weeks, have done zilch in the sewing room.

Dragonomine 01-25-2013 10:12 AM

Working on piecing my Irish chain quilt but the family is going out of town tomorrow for the weekend so I won't be getting much done with last minute stuff.

cjackaitlin 01-25-2013 10:24 AM

I try not to sew at night, my eyes get to tired. So I knit when I watch tv. I am on the last sweater for my youngest DG. But when I sew, I'm finishing a memory quilt for my Db roommate.

I don't know. . . . . but I can tell you that I will be going to ROAD TO CALIFORNIA QUILT SHOW this weekend!!

Jim's Gem 01-25-2013 10:32 AM

Since I did not get to go to the "Road to California" Quilt show today I am going to work on my daughters queen size quilt. I started this thing a long time ago. I just have to sew together a few more blocks and then I can do the final press.

This is the first time in years that I did not get to go! Cry, sniff......... none of my friends could go and I can't walk the whole thing. I am envious of you! I love going to that show!

EdieClay 01-25-2013 10:37 AM

I just finished 48 blocks and was so excited. Now I am going to spend the rest of the weekend trying to figure out how to square them up so I can finish the quilt ... not happy! Don't know exactly what went wrong. I was careful with my cutting and sewing ... or so I thought. Oh well, I'll make a template of the correct size, then spray with starch and press. Hopefully, I can salvage them.

ArtsyOne 01-25-2013 10:52 AM

I'm sewing the alphabet borders onto my third I Spy Through Attic Windows tonight. Only one more of these quilts left to make and then I can start on the list of others that photos on this board have inspired me to make. But first, this afternoon I'm headed to the fabric warehouse because I need a fix.

0tis 01-25-2013 10:56 AM

I have so many - but I think I will finish the binding on a baby quilt (I received the money yesterday - gotta get it done) then I have a scrappy trip along quilt I have been working on and finally I am working on a hand project - one of those ideas I had about learning new things and breaking free out of my box of comfort - I have a Tula Pink quilt kit that has over 1000 pieces that I am hand piecing - I am enjoying it - but only work on it at night while watching tv or long car trips.

Starting a quilt for my grandson ..bday feb 15

Wintersewer 01-25-2013 12:46 PM

I am going to work on the binding for my great niece's quilt. That is my last to finish and then I will start a small baby quilt for my husband's co-worker.

MissSongbird 01-25-2013 12:51 PM

I wish I had time to work on something tonight. But I'll be spending my time doing homework and then I'm going dancing later on tonight....I also have have to get my hair cut too...I almost forgot.

But if I had the chance, I would probably be working on cutting up some fabric for quilt I'm not really sure I want to make yet (the fabric is poor quality so it will likely sit in the trash or my closet whatever I decide to do with it).

QM 01-25-2013 12:53 PM

I started a quilt for a very special friend for Christmas, then got really sick. Now I am ready to quilt the borders.

jcrow 01-25-2013 12:55 PM

I am cutting muslin for my Jenny Doan Big Star Quilt. I did have some cut, but found I didn't have enough after I was more than halfway through cutting. She didn't give measurements on her YouTube video. Now that I have her pattern in Quilting Quicky, I know what I need. Hopefully, I can get all my cutting done today and maybe even start sewing on it!

Shelbie 01-25-2013 01:07 PM

I am sewing the binding on an I Spy quilt for my DGD's big girl's bed. She is 18 months and can climb out of her crib so it's time for the big move. My quilting buddy gave me a whole little baggie of cut 3 1/2" I Spy fabrics so I made a nine patch with turquoise alternate squares. It's simple but cute and I used Hobb's Polydown batting as it will probably be loved and washed to bits.

CoalTownQuilter 01-25-2013 01:26 PM

I'll be piecing blocks for my Easy Street quilt while watching Quilt Cam!! Quite a way to go yet until completion. I'd say I'm 1/4 of the way done!!
