Good days, I understand perfectly that I must write to them in english. My doubt is how i can cutand sew this quilt. It looks like to me a very good forum and orientativo.
thank you

Welcome to the board Carmen. Each of the shapes in that quilt is made of much smaller pieces of fabric some rectangles, some strips with points on them. We will need to figure out the name of the quilt and see where you can find a pattern for it. Sorry I don't have it.. but I know someone will know it. Everyone is very helpful and knowledgable here.

Each square block is basically three strips, the top and bottom strip are contrasting fabrics and the middle one is those fabrics joined with a diagonal seam in the middle of the strip. Each alternate block is rotated through a right angle. Try http://www.quilterscache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore.html - you'll probably find the block there, (and many, many more!).

Don't know the pattern, but I do LOVE that quilt and the colors they have used.
When you find it let me know! I have a collections of blacks, whites and reds just waiting for the right quilt!

Welcome Carmen, I live in Southern Illinois, in the USA. My husband is fluent in Spanish, so if you get "stuck" on something with directions, he may be able to help.

Hold on, I do NOT speak Spanish, but he will translate for me, to help out! He is sleeping. He is a policeman and works nights.

I can figure out, thank you very much for helping with Spanish. I do not know about the second sentence, the third says thanks for your quick response. LOL, I can read a very little, but cannot speak it at all.

carmen monton salvador 06-05-2010 04:49 AM

Muchisimas gracias, esto es lo que esperaba de Udes.......

thanks thanks thanks

carmen monton salvador 06-05-2010 04:53 AM

Thank you very much, I believe that they are rectangles and the small piece must be like the union of the bieses and then go placing it for colors not creeis? I saw her in Sitges's annual exhibition in Barcelona, Spain and I was charmed with it. I ask for the fabrics to the USA since it turns out to be much more economic than them to buy here since we import all of there. Already I have the fabrics and the colors, me lacking to understand how it is done. I trust in the whole Udes.

Thank you
Carmen Spain

That quilt is muy bonito!
How did I do?

Pam 06-05-2010 05:00 AM

Yes these are strips that the colors are joined on the bias.
When you see a yellow highlight at the top of the message board, that mean you have a private e mail.

If you look at the other Thanks message you sent you will see someone posted a link for you to the pattern. If you click on the blue line, it will take you to the pattern.

I do not know how to convert inches to metric, but as long as you use consistent measurements, it should come out fine, no matter if it is a tiny bit smaller or larger.

Es complicado porque necesitas un mapa para localizar los colores, pero eltrabajo vale la pena. Dime si lo puedes comprar. Si tienes problemas, yo te puedo ayudar.

A lot of thanks to all. I have opened the link and it is exactly what I want to do. I only want to use five or six colors since there shows the photo that I you sent. I am delighted with all of you. The first week of November, I am going to visit New York, Pensylvania and Houston, visit organized to see the "Amish" world since only I have this illusion just now. I wait to spend it to me very well. We go 12 or 13 persons.,

Thanks to all.
