My "Waterloo" would be a bargello.

Baby Jane comes to mind. I love those quilts but not the patience to make miniture blocks.

For me, I guess the answer would be I'd never want to make a quilt that I already made, lol. I am willing to try everything once, if I love it great, if not, I am sure I'll learn something from the experience, but either way, chances are very slim that I'd repeat it again, especially that my list of to-dos seems to be growing rapidly...

I agree; I like trying new things. And I have always said, I would try anything once. Sometimes I like it enough to do a couple times more. I like challenges, but have no desire to do applique unless it is in-the-hoop applique with the embroidery machine; they are fun. I won't do anything requiring hand stitching; mostly because of hands. And I like my quilts to be practical and usable, so no art quilts for me. Now why did I make that silk quilt?!?!?

Civil War gets a thumbs down in my book...

Paper Piecing! Seems like such a waste of time.

I agree! I love Baltimore applique but don't think I'd ever have the patience or talent to make one of those.

One block wonders or bargellos...they make me dizzy

mackandblues 02-08-2011 06:44 AM

applique, samplers, bargello, curved seams, rag...

I don't like rag quilts. I know that it is a personal preference, but rag quilts look unfinished. I do not like flannel and the mere touch of it sends chills down my spin it just gives me the creeps. It is just a texture thing.
