Watch out, everyone. You never know when she will show up.

OK, this the story. My Bernina 817 broke, again, and I posted in another message board where I go frequently. I got a few responses with very nice ideas to get it fixed with my now very limited income. I received an e-mail from a very nice lady telling me that she has a machine she wasn't use it, and I was free to it if I wish. She said it was a Bernina 630. I of course, accepted, and she even paid the shipping. I received the machine by UPS and my husband almost fell off the chair when the box was open. She sent me a barely used Artista 630, with extra bobbins, the Bernina Stitch regulator, a couple extra feet, and every bell and wistle that comes with it. I am still in schock and can not stop sewing and pinching myself to make sure I am awake.

I promised to keep her name private, but I will call her my quilting Angel. She is also and avid cross stitcher like me and a self tought quilter. There is some amazing people in this world.

WOW!!! I have an Artista 630 and I love my machine. that was very generous of her!!! It means that someday, if you have the money you can add the embroidery unit to it too. These things new w/o the em unit run about $3500+

TEXASQUILTS 06-04-2009 07:00 AM

Your story is so alwsome, you are truly blessed. I can only dream of an angel like that. I've wanted a Bernina so bad just can't justify the cost
also with limited income. I was lucky enough to purchase a elna 6300
for a descent price on ebay. I've used it like a horse and it needs lots of
work. I've been looking for a Bernina but nothing I can afford. But maybe
soon, I won't stop checking local papers, craigslist and ebay. Someday
the right on will come along.

I'm sure you will enjoy and take care of the machine like none other.
Because she truly is an angel.

Yes, she was/is an angel. And now that you have been touched by your angel, you qualify as an angel. One day you will have to pass the angel touch onto another who is in need of a touch. You will know when. Just listen for the whisper and the stirring of your heart.

Be a blessing,
Suzanne

Suz 06-06-2009 09:54 AM

This is to those who would covet a Bernina. I just bought one - new to me but a used machine. It is the 450 w/BSR and I am very happy with it. The local dealer is wonderful. He and staff treat the customers well. I traded a Janome 9000 owing the poor service. Check and see if your local dealer has used machines as well as good service. Our guy will give you full credit for the one purchased now toward an upgrade.

Just an idea, Suzanne

There are some remarkable people out there. Puts back some of the faith I had lost in humanity.

ambquilter 06-06-2009 06:26 PM

This story is so amazing. I love this group. We don't even know each other but if someone is having a bad day, going through a rough time or just needing fabric for a special project, the people on this group are always ready to jump in and help.

You all are wondering.

Whoever this Angel is "Thank You!" for reminding us all to pay it forward. We all are blessed in so many ways.

Angie

ambquilter 06-06-2009 06:27 PM

I meant You all are wonderful not wondering. Sorry for the misprint.

Maria, that is just the nicest story. I don't know who this lady is, but she sure has a kind heart.
I didn't know there were so many wonderful ppl, that love so many of the same things I do, until I found this board.
It was great fun for me to share some things with hubby, in past eight or nine months, and show him, there are other ppl out there, at least somewhat like me.
This lady surely does sound like an angel, and to be sure, we never know...angels unaware. Hugs, to whoever you are. you made a very nice person on this board very happy :D happy for you, maria

blahel 06-06-2009 08:05 PM

There is so much greed in the world today and lots of people are only out for what they can get for themselves so it is wonderful to hear of someone helping someone when they can and not expecting anything in return..there are lots of people like that here on this board too always ready to offer to help or offer a word of comfort or praise when someone is down..it surely makes ones soul smile!!
Hope you enjoy your lovely Bernina!

Janstar 06-06-2009 09:10 PM

melhuff 06-09-2009 03:49 AM
