It is a lot like the Aunt Becky. I took a class from Jean Brown and now in the process of learn how to use it. But like anything it takes practice.

That is the spoon Jinney Beyer uses, that I ended up buying after making my own, which I described in my previous post. I like my homemade one better. They both work better than Aunt Becky's, in my opinion.

I was going to say that it does look better, at least you have something to hang onto, that Aunt Becky's is horrible. I can't hang on to it, well as I said, its one in a long list of wasted money. I think I would like the spoon better too if I had to use something on the under side.

I don't have that problem with it. I just adjust it to fit my finger and make sure the part of the metal that has the little circle, is bowed out. It just rest on my finger I don't have to hold on to it. My only issue is I haven't had enough time to practice with it. It definitely helps to have Jean's class. I don't feel like I wasted my money, but knew it would be different than what I was use to.

This is another thing that is just an individuals preference.

I had a little baby spoon here from GK's and tried that...it definately was the right size but it was awkward. I always fold the quilt over and hold with my left thumb with the second finger under for the needle to hit on before coming up. Couldn't do everything at once lOL I think I will try and practice with it...the stitches were definately very even. My DD uses the little plastic ovals to stick on her left finger but I like feeling that needle hit the finger...

What a great idea, would never have thought of this!

I use a clover, it is leather with a metal center. It works so well for hand quilting. I can't use the all metal, old fashioned ones, they keep coming off and flying across the room LOL

I have an Aussie friend who loves the stick on kind. i haven't tried them yet.
