leather with metal insert--or stick on dots----favorite is nothing if i can get away with it

Any thimble will do - as long it feels comfortable on your finger, won't fall off - and you use it!!

I use the Thimblelady stainless steel thimble for hand quilting. Rarely do a I use a thimble for just regular hand sewing. The Thimblelady also is open ended and allows you to push with the pad of your finger. I agree it's much more comfortable. Cost is about $30. I started with their plastic version for about 1/2 that to see if I like the style.

ditto for me, those little stick-on leather dots are fabulous. One year, I spent almost $100 on various thimbles, trying to find one I like. The little stick on won by a long shot.

Having tried every thimble out there that was from $3 - $14, I finally gave up, bit the bullet and ordered a Roxanne. It should be here any day now. Sure hope for the prie that I like it.

It was a tough decision, I went back and forth between the Roxanne and the Thimble Lady one.

Same here. It's the only one that works for me.

I like the silicone ones for regular sewing.

I have rather small, thin fingers and long nails. I have had the toughest time finding thimbles that stay on my finger. Someone suggested buying children size thimbles, but I haven't found them yet. I've had the best luck with the leather thimbles because I can size them to fit, but they don't last very long.

I'm interested to know what other people with small fingers use.
