That sounds like something that might work for me while I'm learning to hand piece. My regular thimble keeps falling off.

The thimble that I use for hand quilting has a ridge on top. I have a thimble from Roxanne but find it heavy.

I almost exclusively use leather thimbles when binding, and metal when hand quilting which I avoid whenever possible.

My favorite for just regular hand sewing the binding is a silicone thimble. For hand quilting back in the dark ages I used a metal thimble with the recessed end. I don't hand quilt anymore. To get used to a thimble, put it on your finger and leave it there. You'll know you're used to it when you have to fish it out of the dishwater because you forgot it was on.

I like those little sticky ones only problem I forget they are there and go wondering off shopping with them in place.
