I use mine all the time. I have a wood one that looks like the one in the picture that Sewjoice sent.

I use a wooden skewer....sanding the pointed end "more rounded" with an emory board....so it doesn't poke a hole in material.

I think its a bodkin. I'm looking for one too. As well as a stiletto.

In an applique class that I took, one of the ladies had actually taken chopsticks, and I think she shortened the chopstick so it was about 5 inches long. It was just the right size. Then she glued a decorative bead to the other end and gave one to all the ladies in the class. I don't have mine here to tell you the exact length.

I have a turner and it's called That Purple Thang.

I'm pretty sure it's the "Point Turner or the "bone folder". I have both & have used them both equally as well. Just be carreful not to push the point thru your corner!! The voice of experience!! lol! I have also used a knitting needle, and the 'stick' that comes with fiberfil stuffing. It looks like a wooden chopstick. It's not as pointy so you can't get into your corner as well. If you round your corners slightly, they will look bettter. Joanns has them in the Notions aisle. They're not expensive but Joann's often has Notions 1/2 price! Good luck....have fun!!!! :D

I'll have to look later. I wanted to place an order for several odds and ends I need but have to get ready to leave for work.

I like your description: the seam turner flattener thingy - and I agree that they just don't know how to write a proper index!
