Great find. Always keeping my eye out for such bargains. Bedskirts are wonderful for lots of repeats, etc. Ususally very cheap at thrift stores too.

Fantastic bargain!! I have bought a few bed skirts at thrift stores for a couple of dollars each and got lots of good usable cotton! A couple of them even had a heavy white cotton for the part that goes over the bed springs! I love to repurpose things like that!  :D

Great idea!! Quilter's have always been able to make their quilts from the things they have available.. We look at things with an eye that sees things differently.. like you.. a bed skirt turned quilting fabric.. Good job! You just never know where you'll find the right fabric!

I'd say yes it's a bargain and nice fabric. We catch heat from some of the folks who quilt here in our area becasue we use bedsheets for backing. I am a little weird and don't like to use a top sheet when I sleep. The sheets on the back of the quilt are soft and very durable. Think about how long a set of sheets last if you buy good ones. I have sheets from when I got married 29 years ago that are still in pretty good shape.

Thank you for sharing your creative shopping trip with us. All we have to do is think like our depression era parents did and not always run to the quilt shop every time we need fabric and think creatively like you did. Kudos to you.
