I use this also and you can find it in the arts and craft stores in the art department.

Sounds clever to recycle something like the signs!

I use my plastic canvas sheets cut to size.

Actually, I'm glad you mentioned using that plastic for the bottom of tote bags, etc. Whatever signs are still up after elections, I pick up those signs. I use them for many things and I can now count your use too. I use the thin metal stands in my garden to hold up tall plants or tomato plants (you can't see them from afar the blend in) also paint with any old paint or primer and use them for yard sale signs or directional signs when needed for events. My dad used the plastic to paint then make wind vanes of different shapes. Heck, the plastic does not deteriorate. I'm sure there are many more uses for them too. I'm glad you brought up the new use of the plastic.

I buy plastic canvas like you cross stitch on to use as bag bottoms, and then cover them. works good for me.

I use plastic canvas...it cuts easily and I cover it with fabric!

I read that you can cut up your old, warped cutting mats...just use the flat parts. Good way to recycle.
