I have some of those already. Great idea. Get DH to punch holes in a few and I can use them for gifts. So creative.

I have a bag full of empty pill bottles. Just couldn't throw them away. Ought to be useful. But I like the pencil box idea for the thread because it won't roll around. Use the pill bottles for used pins and needles. Thanks for sharing.

What a great idea!

I like that idea.....might need to make another trip to Walmarts :D

What a great idea! You ought to submit this to Fons and Porter and get a free one year subscription!
that is so neat!!
Opal Jane you are so clever!!!! I will surely try this one myself. And dear lady.....look at you.....congratulations on your weight loss!!! You must feel wonderful. Soon I will copy you on this achievement also. Great job!!! :-D
I use all size medicine bottles with a hole punched in top to carry along. Also at sewing table when sewing binding on hate to chase the thread.
Walmart, here I come! :-)
What a grand idea. I am going to pick one up on Friday, thanks.
Great idea. Thanks so much.

Another idea that works for me is I thread a needle right onto the spool. I drop the spool into a ziploc bag and poke the needle through the side/end of the bag, pulling the thread out through the hole. Zip the bag closed. I then pull out as much thread as I need, leaving a "tail" of thread protruding out of the bag a few inches. Next time, I just thread the needle onto the tail and pull again.
Neat, cheap, tidy, keeps the thread from getting dusty/fluffy/dirty/whatever. The bag stops the thread from rolling away and folds up nice and tight so it doesn't take up much extra space when storing. And who doesn't have a ziploc type baggie of any sort in their home? Tara |
Great idea. Out of necessity comes invention.

How did you punch the holes through?
I've done this, I took my quilting on a plane with me and had to keep in steady in something so I took a container that I was going to store the stuff in and put some holes in it. I've also made yarn cake bags that have a hole so your yarn doesn't turn into a tangled mess :) Extremely convient.
^ I personally just take a thin nail and poke it through..you can also take larger needles and poke little holes in as well. |
You are one smart cookie
how have you lost all the weight - any particular program?
Well, I'll be!! What a neat idea. I'll have to get me one.
