i use gutterman the most,in my janome, from joanns with a coupon..but i love all the others too!

I usually use Mettler. Quilt shop had Masterpiece by Alex Anderson on sale for $6.00 a spool. Really great thread.
Always use a good quality thread. Poor quality threads will leave a lot of lint in your machine. Machines are sometimes pickey and you may have to try a couple brands to see what brand yours likes. Don't buy a lot of any one brand until you find what you like and what works best in yout machine. |

I quit using coats and clark when they changed it,(dual duty) it is a smaller spool and raised the price. even with a coupon it is no bargain. dual duty is around $3.00 for 400 yards. thier 1200 yard spool is almost 6 bucks. gutterman can be costly also, but i use a coupon, and the spools are bigger. and the main reason is convience..if i run low and am quilting, i can just run up and get some from joanns. If you have some quilters that can go in with you..and split shipping..it is even cheaper. Just a thought. Kim |
I use just anything I have and I have several different kinds, even machine quilting thread in my Juki TL98QE, when the label comes off the end I really don't know what kind it is, all seems to work good. I've never used the high end threads.

Aurifil is the best thread one of the best threads on the market. Coats and Clark, the worst IMO. I have some Mettler and Gutterman and will use those when I must, but hugely prefer Aurifil. You can buy it very inexpensively at Tristan Threads and they will gladly ship to the U.S.
